Engine locked up

What do the rotors look like? With any blower failure I’d be concerned about shrapnel making its way into the cylinders. Some guys get lucky, some don’t it seems.View attachment 148186
I'm just hoping that it was a bearing that locked up and didn't send any metal in the motor.
 
So I finally found some time to diagnose the situation. I pulled the supercharger belt off and found that the supercharger is locked up. The engine seems fine.
So now the question is what supercharger to go with??

Now that you said that, that's exactly what happened to the TRX that Cleetus McFarland blew up on YouTube out in Glamis. The factory supercharger locked up. He installed a Whipple and the truck ran fine.

For a stock long block, I'd look at the Kong 2650, the Whipple 3.0 or the Magneson 2650. All three will make shit-tons of power.

426 stroker forged internals and change to twin turbo would make most power. 3.8 Whipple built stroker would be best best keeping SC. Turbos are more efficient than SC and less stress on motor.

Gen V whipple has major reliability issues, Gen VI like new 3.8 is supposed to fix the issues but don't think guys have been running them long enough to tell.
 
Staying within the power limits of the stock bottom end, Kong 2650.

What causes the SC to lock up? I've always wondered why there wasn't an oil change interval in our maintenance schedule for our blowers. I remember changing my whipple oil a few times and thinking man, why is there not a oil sight glass and a drain on our blowers?? Has anyone changed their TRX SC oil?

ПA couple of days ago a friend sent me this... He said there was no oil in the supercharger, as a result the supercharger left the chat... Has anyone serviced the supercharger, how much oil should I pour in and how do I change the oil in the engine?
The cover over those gears has two screws. Remove SC from truck, on the bench remove lower screw tilt SC and let drain. Use a hose and syringe to inject 6 ounces of oil back into the LOWER hole by tilting the SC back 45 degrees. It does use a special aviation grade oil and should last the life of the SC if it's not contaminated or no leaks develop. SC oil kit You can also rebuild the SC or send it to Kong and have them do it for you, which comes with new oil. Might as well get it ported while it's there. KONG PERFORMANCE
