Down payment with credit card

I've made small down payments on truck and as others have said it's usually the processing fee that's an issue. Huge companies that deal mostly with credit cards will often eat the fee for your business.

I never wanted to put too much down anyhow because if somehow there's something wrong with vehicle or any other part of the process, I don't want to be fighting for refund.

What credit card pays 3.75% cashback. LOL. 🍿
B of A black card gets 2.5% and then certain tier members get an additional 50%, which I qualify for. Some categories pay as much as 5% cash back.

Sure they will - they'll just pass the 3% processing fee on to you. Your $100K truck will cost you an extra $3K, for the privilege of earning $1,030 in rewards points. I'll offer you the same deal, without all the pesky truck payments in the middle. You send me $3K, and I'll write you a check for $1,000 back. That way, we both win :)
;) As long as you can do Apple Pay, my card gives 4.5% back when using Apple Pay

Mark Dodge only allowed $3000 for credit card(And when I pick it up BofA was having a +2% cash back promotion) so an additional $105 off :D

4.5% unlimited? In real $ or money you need to spend on Apple products?

The most absolute pure cashback I'm aware of - no limits on what you can earn or spend, no time frames, no categories, no yeah buts, no stipulations on what you can spend it on.... is the Citi Bank Double Cash card.

Like real $, you can redeem the points at 1.5 cents/point to travel expenses like rental cars/hotels/air/Uber etc.
;)If you got the card, DM me I will show you a trick to redeem it at 1.5c/p for cash

I used my Dodge cc and earned $500 in cash back and a $1000 off on my next vehicle purchase. Maximum I could use was 10k. Just paid it off. No penalties for doing it.

i purchased a brand new, 0 miles car with a CC swipe .. Small dealer in Gallup NM. Was not expecting them to agree to full amount but they didnt care nor added a premium to offset the CC fees.

Someone screwed up, or they were making enough bank on the deal that they could eat the 3%.

It was 10% bellow MSRP transaction on a bottom trim Wrangler. 33k and change MSRP and they sell it for exactly 30k (odd number). This happened in 2021 at the height of the lock-downs.
Havent found a dealer to agree to more than 5k plus the CC fee since then

They just eat the 3% to sell it, or you can push for more discount and pay cash.
But for some dealer, it could be ~1.5%, depends on how they negotiate with Visa/Master
