So I know metal expands when hot contracts when cold but I have never seen anything like this on any of my other cars trucks. When the truck is cold the exhaust is flush with the rear bumper after driving the exhaust sticks out like an inch to an inch and half from the bumper. I go in the house let it sit a hour and it’s back flush with the bumper again… these pictures are with my phone flush against the rear bumper so same angle same place. Anyone seen anything like this? 1st 2 pics are cold and 2nd 2 are hot. And it goes right back to the same place once it’s cooled down.

Mine does it too, not quite that much though. I have the AFE system. Never paid close attention to it, but pretty sure the stock exhaust did it too, because up at the plastic shield around the spare tire, the plastic was melted to the pipe even though it was over an inch away when cold

My Corsa exhaust behaves similarly. Only the passenger side moves, but doesn’t move as much as yours.

I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me when I first installed the exhaust.

My passenger side is worse when it moves it shifts over as well and barely touches the bumper just seen tonight it’s barely started to melt it, is yours pretty center? The driver side isn’t bad

Anyone know why the Trx exhaust moves like that? I still can’t get over how much it moves and I have never seen it move that much on any other vehicle?

Happens on the chargers & challengers too. the easy fix is a tack weld at all of the clamp points!

So it’s the pieces of pipe actually sliding? I didn’t think they would just go back to exactly where they were if that was the case.

thats been our experience, mark it with a sharpie cold and run it hot and you should be able to narrow it down. For chargers and challengers its where it connects to the mid pipes where it usually moves the most which gets you that pushed out tip look.

I’ll check it out, thank you very much!

Mine seems to stay pretty center, just pushes out some and then returns when cooled. I’ve tried adjusting and re-tightening, didn’t seem to make a difference.

It was only happening on passenger side for me. I haven’t checked in a couple months.

I would have it lined up by an exhaust shop and have the tips possibly tack welded so it can’t physically move. I have the Borla system and mine doesn’t move at all. I checked it after seeing this thread and it’s been solid.

I don’t think it’s the tips moving and it goes right back back once it’s cold I had them tweak it to the left some so it’s center now but the movement in and out is still there, I guess I’ll just not look at it when the trucks warm lol
