Chance to buy a lunar trx

Hey all! New to the forums but I have an opportunity to trade up from a 21 ram trx to a 23 lunar trx. It is a Granger dealership for 108k with tyrant package but it is used with 667 miles. Can't decide if I want to pull the trigger or not. They are giving g me 75k trade.

Thing to consider is the warranty on the tyrant package. There are a few treads on it. How many miles on your 21 and lvl 1 or lvl 2 with what options.

Yeah i saw the lunar, havoc and the black one for 99k. To trade up i would consider a special edition. If you bough yours at a discount from one of the dealers i would consider doing the trade assuming there is equity. Other than that you're paying 25k more to reset the mileage back to 0.

Mine is paid off. So it's either finance 24k for the black or 34k for the lunar. I was leaning towards black because I feel black looks alot better looking than the lunar. I guess watching too many youtube videos make me biased lol.

I would not spend $25-35k just to upgrade to the same truck. Buy an extended warranty and call it a day. Eventually the 23 and 24 will depreciate and be worth what your 21 is now worth. To each their own, but throwing $30k off the side of a cliff just to get the same truck with 22k less miles is crazy IMO.

To me it's a good deal on the Lunar. 667 miles is a new truck. Plus you get the Tyrant package. I've seen the Tyrant threads and read everyone's concerns but haven't come across any real issues -- just what if's.

That aside, I don't get anyone turning in their TRX for a new one. I guess if you just hate the color you have and the money is nominal for you -- whatever. But I'm flabbergasted over the number of people on here who do it, or buy one to drive and save another. To each their own though, and none of my business what anyone does in the privacy of their own garage . . .

Don’t listen to any of these pragmatic folks. I just traded my 21’ for the 23’ Lunar. It is worth it. The 23’ IMO drives so much better and the tech is a great upgrade. The Lunar is going to the shop today for PPF, Tint & Ceramic. After which it’s upgrade time.

P.S. if it makes you feel any better I paid $108 without the Tyrant package. And to what @gmpirate said 667 miles is a new truck.

if $ not an issue, get what you want. I like the Lunar more than other color I've owned. it's all personal preference. no wrong answer because it's your money.

Good point. I am leaning more towards the black trx. That stealth expel looks very nice on black. Not sure if going lunar is worth the extra 10k finance for paint and blue stitching.

I agree. Black stealth looks great and you don’t slam your head into the wall daily trying to keep it clean.

Placebo effect…. His driveshaft hasn’t started clunking yet, but give it a couple weeks with that Texas heat

The front suspension feels tighter and I don’t have the 21’ lean. I think the rest is the placebo effect my good buddy @DrIlyich pointed out.

I will say I hands down love the updated Uconnect. And I like the digital speedometer and options more than I thought I would.

See that's why I was thinking upgrading for the new tech. I just got alot of mods to strip down to add to the new one if I do.

I drove my 22 up and traded for a 23, immediately noticed the stiffer springs in the front. Got rid of the marshmellow ride. The cluster is way cooler as well. I traded a granite for a lunar and havent looked back. Very happy with my 23.

If I was dead set on "upgrading" to a 23 I would go for the lunar with tyrant. 24K for a digital cluster or 34K for a digital cluster and 100ish extra HP under warranty. If money is the issue... why in the world are you upgrading to the same exact truck
In all reality I would just take the extra 24K and put a few mods on my truck and call it a day, but thats just me.
