I said Hellcats not TRX

I think we all assumed you meant Hellcat engine since we are on a TRX forum.
I understand just found some humor in it cause they were ragging on Canada......Banff and around make a good vacation but when I was there we had to show them how to party :ROFLMAO:

Not identical, but I bought a 2016 Ram 2500 that came from Canada. No idea about the warranty, but with newer I'd figure that out for sure first - haven't traveled that path, but would assume it to be true with Canada vs. US and not being honored. Mine a year + ago when I bought it, but already out of warranty and not a concern for me.

Differences with 2500 - might be with any Ram?
-Radio is different, different method of updating in Canada vs. US, I understand now updates done over the air now? Might look into this. On a 2500 you can just swap out the US version of the radio and it plugs right in with no updates required to get it to work. I updated my firmware by finding downloads for it in forums - paying attention to Canada/model firmware versions. Not fun, but am on latest now and I did have to update in version order - no skipping. Once I got on the latest firmware version, I was able to update the maps since they were from 2014 - so lots of updates! Not sure if same for your situation, but good item to check out. I did not swap out my radio btw - works great!

-I had a drag link recall item that had already had the first "Fix" done - I had checked the VIN before purchasing and all recalls were already done prior to my purchase. Better/later fix with a drag link replacement came up, and using Ram Cares on another forum got the drag link replaced and an alignment for Free to me.

-I pulled the window sticker from online website using VIN, and it was in French. Lol! I was able to find the build sheet and no language issues, in English. I use that now for any reference items I need.

Other than that it's been a great truck!

Good luck with your decision!

I stand corrected, the OP's cluster has indeed been swapped over. Here's a pic of mine (Canadian truck) and it's in Km/h his is the reversed Mph.

I wanted to say thank you to everyone who replied in this thread. Probably saved me a ton of headache. Confirmed no warranty without purchasing an additional, separate warranty and of course the compatibility issues with US.

The search continues

If the build sheet for that ram shows it’s a Canada market build, then that instrument cluster has been swapped in, and I would make sure the mileage is correct when compared to what the pcm is reporting.
Ram will not honor the factory warranty of a Canada market Ram sold to the US market.
Not a big deal, but the 2 times I've had my truck in to the local dealer they had to make a quick change on their tablet as they connected in via the OBD2 to get the mileage to pull in miles vs. kilometers. My instrument panel must have already been swapped since larger number show in MPH on speedometer. Just a conversion thing I know, but though I'd mention since it is an extra step at dealer and they asked if truck was Canadian or not each time it occurred. Not a big deal for me since I do my own work (2 times I took my truck in was being covered 100% for recall work) but thought I would mention in case it helps someone else.

hey guys. jumping into this thread a little late. I picked up a Canadian truck in the US back in January. The truck is great overall. My gauge cluster must've been swapped because the speedo is MPH primary. I'm questioning the factory tune. My truck seems to have very little torque in lower RPM. Its always wanting to downshift on the highway which is a big disappointment and it is just slower off the line than I imagined without having to really rev it. Can anyone confirm different engine management calibration for US versus Canada in terms of emissions or anything like that? I have not yet had the truck at the dealer because there is no factory warranty. I made the dealer pay for a 5 year 120k mile aftermarket warranty though so I'm covered in terms of serious issues. I just dont think the warranty covers me going to the dealer and asking them to check my PCM for mileage and/or updates. Thanks in advance

Can you share the last 8 digits of the VIN?

I was just wanting to check the build sheet to make sure that it was originally built to Canadian specs (it was). I don't know what the Canadian EVIC looks like, so I can't confirm if it was swapped. Any Canadians here - does your EVIC have kph as the large/primary unit in the speedometer?

check out TRXNUT's attached photos a few posts up. His is KPH primary

do you know if there are any differences in engine spec or management between the US and Canadian trucks?
