Truck arrived at the dealership and I'm ready to go pick it up. For those of you that finance through a credit union, how much did you pay for taxes, license and registration at the time of registering the truck? I'm just trying to get an idea of how much. My truck is going to cost 92K at the dealer.

Also I heard the truck needs to be smog, weigh and inspected before going to the DMV?

Thanks

So if you bought out of state you pay taxes at DMV when you register it there. It goes off the county you live in. I bought from PA. So super easy process though. Go to a state recognized weigh station to get the truck weighed. Then get the smog done. I had a lil over 100 miles before I smogged and also drove it on the freeway for a minute before going to smog. After that go to DMV get a VIN verification and done!

I live in Cali but bought my TRX from Louisiana. The tax, lic and reg came right around 9K. The MSRP is 106K but I got it for 11K off, so the 9K was for a roughly 95K truck.

I live on central coast of California.
Bought From Chapman in Pennsylvania.

Just need weight and smog.
Vin inspection they will do at DMV when you register.

Paid $83560 for truck.
Taxes where $7587
Make sure and take your bill of sale to DMV with you.

Weight you can get done at a truck stop. Its usually like $10. Make sure they put your vin on the slip.

You wont have to smog after first registration for a good while. I think mine is 7years

On your bill of sale. If they charged you the taxes
Contact the dealer you bought from and ask for it back.

When i bought mine they said taxes where included. Dmv told me better to pay here other wise you pay taxes in state bought and still owe California.
Dealer in PA was super cool and returned money.
If you need any help let me know.
Congratulations on the truck.

The biggest issue since you bought it out of state per CA you will have to smog it that’s about it. My buddy bought a Jeep 392 in Dec out of state CA required a smog

VIN Verification (from the DMV), Smog, weight, purchase documents, and registration tax monies.

People forgot to mention VIN verification for any out-of-state registration.

Just bring those to DMV. so you only go for one trip.
