Best Dash Cam?

Fit cam front and rear. It truly looks factory installed. I believe 512 is largest sd card. With iPhones and wireless CarPlay - just have to turn Bluetooth off to connect to camera. Then back on for CarPlay.

How is the app for reviewing video? Is it easy to work with?

I just went to the Fitcam store on Amazon and there were a lot of United States people complaining that the app does not work in North America.
Can somebody that has one installed confirm that the app will work with Iphones?

I want to buy one.

Fitcam app is fine. Most of those reviews are idiots who don’t get that CarPlay is WiFi and that the connection to the camera requires you to drop your connection to CarPlay or it gets in the way of the connection. They blame the app instead 🙄

Your fine. I have had the fitcam in the TRX, in my 2500 RAM and a few Toyotas. Since it looks OEM it’s worth it. Functions well.

It works. Will post the 4k video of my truck being stolen soon, 😂

Got the Comma 3x installed today. Went for my first ride... got above 35mph and turned on the 'self driving mode'. wow. pretty awesome! Driving this beast across the country (which I do a couple times a year) will now be a ton more relaxing. Now I gotta figure out how to turn on all the bells & whistles - one of which is the recording feature. I think this thing can hold up to 2 months of driving and if connected will upload it.

Anyone have a great experience with dash cams? I have been reading A LOT and I think I have landed on this Fitcam X

I am debating the front and rear or just the front. Honestly not sure if the rear is worth it or not for the extra $ because really I will be looking at what ... the bed of my truck and a glimpse of a care behind me?

I have a Drone XC in my 4Runner (front and rear cams) and I like it but it leaves a bit to be desired. They really struggle with functionality. I love the 4G though - I can pull up my cam anywhere, any time, and it has admittedly gotten better. The factory remote start in the TRX is fine though, especially if I go with RAM Connect and find a promo code somehow. (Anyone have one?)

The downside of the Drone is that you need the unit plus a remote start that is not factory which makes it a little unappealing (and expensive) but I figure this was definitely the place to chat about it.
I run a Vantrue. Has forward and rear (for the cab). A lot of taxi and Uber drivers use these.

Been using my Comma 3x for a few weeks now. Works absolutely fantastic. Makes driving across the country very much more relaxing. Only had my hands on the wheel a few times. Pretty amazing little machine totally takes over driving AND it captures all of your trips for post review. Does not have a rear view camera link... YET. Only a matter of time before someone adds that capability. It does have an in cab camera.

Oh, and here is review a full review of it. https://www.theverge.com/23548094/george-hotz-comma-3-driver-assist-hands-free-demo

How's the audio on these dash cams? Blackvue makes the radio sound like it's coming from a lowered chevy with blown speakers 🤦.

My garmin has crisp audio, from comparing a few clips it’s better than fitcam quality.

That clip sounds hilarious 😂
Supercharger sounds great. Voices are crisp and clear. But stereo at an enjoyable level sounds terrible on footage. Maybe it's a blackvue problem. That's a 970x plus. 970x is the same. It could be the massive bass I'm getting from the stock system 🤷‍♂️🤣.

One of my random saved clips from garmin.
Guy with the trailer was driving like a real gem

I have the FitCam X and I love it. To access the Fitcam X via the app, you will have to have your WiFi turned on. It's easy to download video clips but you can speed up the process by pulling out the micro SD card and importing the videos onto your computer.

I mounted the rear cam on my rear window. The system was easy to install and provides clear video coming and going. I attached a few pictures of the front and rear camera views during the day and at night.

Function is far more important than form when it comes to dash cams. If it can't catch a plate a night in the rain then it's worthless in my estimation. It's only job is to collect evidence, so give it the best tools you can for your budget.

At the time I took delivery of my truck (2 years ago) the VIOFO A139 Pro was the cats meow for dash cams because it had the Sony STARVIS2 sensor. I don't have any complaints and it does do a good job at night in the rain. Here are a couple links about the camera. The second video is from my truck showing the nice glare that the TRX has to offer on sunny days.

100% agreed. That should be the point.
