Baja Raptor Run with TRXs?

There is one out of Arizona I believe.

Be careful with some of these raptor runs.

They are on public roads, they give you a map and everyone just hammers. And if you wreck… tough shit. They say they have tow and repair service but I’ve never seen on actually have it when it was needed.

I feel like most of the raptor specific groups, even the “X” one… I won’t give their name, they are sue happy, are basically a few guys that use the group to pay for their trucks and trips.

They say that their history, at least one is prior Leo, etc gives them specific training and authority for a better group etc.

But it’s just a bunch of bs.

I’ve stopped using the groups and now just try to find like minded folks who want to go to certain areas and want to drive at similar pace and safety as I do.

I was debating setting up a trx group. But the costs to have insurance, medical, repair and tow etc etc….
The Vegas to Reno run would have been about $1500 per person with out any frills for a group of 15 trucks.
I'm a part of NCRR and we recently did a Baja run. We had two medics, including one for a well known professional Baja driver as his day job. I think we had 17 rigs: 1 R, 2 BRaptors, a couple Gen1's, and some Gen2/3/3.5's. We had traditional sat comms, as well as 3 star links, a chase truck with flat bed, and several mechanics. That being said, my TRX wasn't allowed because a certain company was there that was recording us (they tagged along to our run - it wasn't funded in any way by them.) All this being said, if you were looking for a group, they welcome TRX's normally and I think I am the only TRX to show up to a run. It's a good group of folks, and is family friendly. Highly recommend checking them out. Potentially a downside is we primarily communicate events via our facebook group.

I’d bet you know at least two of the 3 groups im referring too.

I think one has gone under, they were having wrecks including head on collisions with passing traffic. Then one event; their major sponsor had an accident (bounded a crest and the lead trucks never called out on coming traffic and he landing on the front fender and a pillar of the oncoming vehicle). Aside from the mess of the accident. Thank God it was just bruises.
It took 3 days to get a tow vehicle out to get his truck. Off a fire road.
They needed a tow rig because he sheered the corner of suspension off.
