Are Rock Rails wide enough to stand on?

Hey, I'm on the fence between running boards and rock Rails. While I prefer the rock rails look, I'm concerned that they might be less functional than the running boards.

I ordered rock rails because I like the looks better I'm hoping enuf to step on probably not for older people but hoping there is enuf there

They are pretty thin.... you can utilize it, but your foot will overhang on the rail...

No, I was also on the fence and ordered the off road running boards and they look good enough and are functional. Also the wife would have not appreciated the giant step up into the truck without them. I had the power running boards on my 2020 1500 Limited and that is also an option if you like them and are not really doing any serious off-road adventures. I am not doing the power running boards as they got in the way sometimes and one less thing to break over time...

By the way, how‘s your truck doing?

Stock running boards look terrible, I got rock rails and have been using to step up on and seems to work fine. Maybe next winter might be a little slippery, will see. I would definitely go aftermarket if not getting rock rails.

Mine came with rock rails and we did not like them at all for stepping. Installed the Mopar power steps. Thinking the running board would be good to protect the lower section of the side from rocks though.

My GF is tiny (4'10") and when we checked out a TRX at a local lot and she saw the rock rails she gave me a Beyonce, "You fukkin crazy if you think that is gonna work for me" type look.

For me it would be fine. But I suspect many wives and GFs would want traditional steps.
