Any TRX owner actually driven the RHO?

Had an RHO pull up next to me today while I was exiting the interstate. He punched it of course when I had no chance of getting back on….so I got to enjoy the comical exhaust note, I would be embarrassed. Even my wife was laughing at the sound of it

He probably told his buddies that you were scared to race him 😂

Haven’t seen an RHO yet but I get plenty of other cars and trucks doing that. Drive completely normal then get aggressive when I’m turning off. I get a good laugh out of it. Where was all that when you were next to me in traffic? 😂

No, I don’t want to trade the TRX for a RHO. I’m just curious if anybody who owns a TRX has actually driven the RHO? I’m just curious how they honestly stack up, not by some YouTuber looking for clicks.
a Ram TRX with almost 200 less horse and sounds like a Jetta never drove one but I’m sure it’s disappointing

I have only seen 2 around here... I think one of them is a guy that works at the dealership....because I see his 2021 TRX has been sitting in the showroom for sale. The RHO that was there for ~8 months, is the one he is driving around in (black one)

I drove my friends and I actually really like it. Yes I get we all hate on them because it's not a V8 but the high output TT is a pretty great powerplant. The truck is smooth as hell. Again it's not made to be a direct competitor to a trx or raptor R it's a direct competitor to the Ford Raptor ecoboost and it's a better version of the raptor to me. The inline 6 is way smoother and had almost 100 more hp than a base raptor. A jb4 tune will pick up 100 wheel and it's neck and neck with a base 6.2 hellcat. Best part was the forum dealers are doing 10k off so you could get a pretty loaded brand new RHO for like 71k. That's a great deal and slap a catback on it and enjoy the hell out of it.

Was at the dealership recently with the wife. They were moving a RHO to another spot in the showroom. She has no clue the RHO is different than a TRX. They both look the same to a woman. They started up the RHO right in front of us and these were her exact words "why does it sound like that?"

I agree with everything you said until you went off the rails with these two statements: 🤣 "A jb4 tune will pick up 100 wheel and it's neck and neck with a base (stock) 6.2 hellcat." "slap a catback on it and enjoy the hell out of it." Who would be dumb enough to void their powertrain warranty, in an attempt to close the gap with a stock Hellcat that has a 5/60 warranty? I'm sorry, but I've listened to clips of aftermarket RHO exhaust systems and they all sound like a louder, raspier version of a Dyson vacuum. Quieter is better when it comes to the RHO.

I'm only speaking to what I know. I believe our 6.2s dyno around 580 wheel stock. I'm pretty sure all the RHO' dynos I have seen have all been around 460 wheel. If the JB4 picks up about 100 wheel which is what owners are reporting (and rho is a few hundred pounds lighter) it should run pretty close w a trx. There are videos of a few races on youtube as well. Now who would void their warranty and do it? That's up to the owners I don't particularly care but just reporting what I seen.

Sound, again it's not V8 and won't sound like one but my buddies that has the AFE sounds pretty deep and cool! It sounds exactly like a modded BMW M3/M4. If you hate the sound of an inline 6 I doubt anyone would be looking at an RHO then lol I do prefer the hellcat obviously as I purchased one but I do think the rho gets a lot of unnecessary hate. It's a cool truck imo

Honestly I wouldn't mind it so much if it was dead quiet. I went and listened to some youtube videos and I can't get over that sound it's awful reminds me of the Raptor when they came out which kept me far far away from them.

All of those BMW's I feel like run the pop/crackle tunes and it drives me nuts. Similar to the RHO keep it quiet and I would enjoy it

Oh that bangs and pops shit is so retarded. I hate that as well lol His truck isn't like that. I believe those guys actually tune those things to sound like that lol it's crazy. I will say if you heard one in person it would sound better but again it's not going to win you over if you're used to your trx. It's different.

Turbo inline-six M3/M4’s sound like ass. It’s why I kept my two N/A M3’s and got rid of each turbo’ed generation within a year or two of ownership. They’re faster yes, but my ears wept each time I drove them. As I get older, sounding cool with being somewhat fast has a higher priority for me than being the fastest vehicle that sounds like :poop:.

Yeah, I don’t understand why people always feel the need to include this while trying to talk the RHO up. They are essentially saying if they add a performance mod to the RHO, then it will be faster than it was in stock form. Well, no shit Sherlock 😂😂. That’s how performance mods work. This is true of any vehicle. You can also modify a TRX lmao. Then it’s, “Well, well….its much easier to just plug in the JB4”. You can also slap a Predator or Diablo on a TRX very easily if you don’t want to do a proper pulley and tune, which itself is not difficult either.

You need to compare apples to apples. The TRX has 702 HP. The RHO has 540 HP. Trying to compare them using random dyno numbers is just an attempt to make the RHO look better than what it really is. Why compare a stock TRX with a warranty to a modified RHO without a warranty? If you're going to compare trucks, compare them stock vs. stock. If not, just compare the RHO to the V6 Raptor.

I don't hate the RHO. I think it will be a great truck, when compared to the V6 Raptor. What I hate is when RHO owners compare a modified RHO to a stock TRX. I just don't get that. If an RHO owner is insecure about having less HP than a TRX, don't buy an RHO.

RHO? I've never heard of her. But it rhymes with GAY.

Look at the RHO Facebook page. It will tell you everything you need to know about they think the RHO is the best truck. They even have Uconnect problems to prove it

I certainly don't hate the sound of the Cummins in my Ram 3500 (not that it makes much noise) or what the Caterpillar in my Pete sounds like.

Of course, even combined those two engines won't rev to the RHO's 5,700 rpm. Maybe that's why they don't sound bad? And their much larger displacement probably doesn't hurt.

Either way, I have no problem looking at an RHO, but I don't want to hear or drive one.
