Alcon 6 Piston Brake Kit Install

Preferably I want them to ship me a brand new complete kit with the revised pads since the calipers and rotors look beat and overheated or a full refund and I'll send these back. The new pads however seems to be a lot better but for the money and all this bullshit I defiantly would stay away from ALCON. Lets see how ALCON handles my issue and hopefully ill have a different opinion when all said and done

Customer service issues aside. How does the product perform?

After driving today the revised pads are right back to the original sound and massive amounts of dust. I do not recommend the kit to anyone. Alcon told me to reach out to 797 for a full refund.

Damn, I was hopeful about this kit and considering it because of the beefy rotors.

This is the first Issue we've had with these brakes I'll say, I have sold approx. 20 Other kits which may not seem like many but as a smaller company it is a higher dollar item so we don't see as many sales as the rest on that particular item. As far as reading the email chain with Mike & Alcon it seems they gave up as far as coming to a resolution and told him to reach out to us, which I am not 100 percent sure what to do as of this minute as we can't take a used brake kit back & need some sort of clarity on what to do from them. We have reached out to Alcon and are working on the matter.

Pure Personal Opinion below, nothing to do as representing the business..But more so for future people coming across this thread.

Brakes are a tough area as everyone drives different & has different expectations and driving habits.

The manufacturer told you to reach out to the vendor for a refund? Hopefully the mfg. intends to reimburse the vendor, since this issue had nothing to do with the selling vendor.

This may not be the place to ask and I don't expect an answer. But why didn't RAM use the SRT brakes found on the Challenger and Durango on the TRX?
Because those Challengers, Chargers, Durango, Trackhawks got 20" wheels with street tires, we got 18" with thick offroad tires. The 20's can fit a large caliper.

Yes Alcon told me to reach out to 797 for a full refund and that Alcon would reimburse 797 for whatever they paid for it. I do want to make it clear that Nick at 797 has been great and helpful along the way and I do feel bad as it seems that 797 is in the middle now.

Well Alcon sounds like a straight up company for doing that. Certainly stands behind their product. Hopefully everything works out!👍🇺🇲

ViperMike - how do you like your new setup?

Will Alcon post the brake pad shape number?

It seems like the pad material Alcon is using sucks for the application.

I have a bias toward a couple different brake pad manufacturers and certain pad materials.

It would be nice to be able to find a good pad that suits the specific use with the alcons.

But I’ve yet found the pad shape number, (I haven’t looked too hard)

Btw, my Hawk LTS pads did that exact same thing on my suburban. Pads lasted about 2k miles and dusted up a storm.

Sadly I didn’t check to see how worn they were until they were well out of warranty (I don’t drive that vehicle a lot so took a year to get the mileage). Hawk said there was something wrong with the pads when they saw pics and the mileage but wouldn’t reimburse me.
I swapped them for 5.0’s which are a great street pad for a heavy vehicle.

The EBC rotors and Hawk pads seem to be working nicely. They dont bite as good as the Alcons but something wasn't right with them.

Does anyone know what pads to put on the Alcon 6 Piston caliper other than Alcon?

HAWK pads for example.

which were included, brake very poorly and squeak

brake pads have only done 1100 miles and they cracked

I have been trying to get a pad shape number from them for a year.

Maybe a dealer can get better luck.

Did you read my post about my Alcon issues?? They revised the pads but I still had trouble with the revised ones. ALCON = total garbage

So frustrating to see this. If we could get different pads I think this kit would be the optimal setup.

I’m still waiting on the refund. I don’t have the Alcons, I don’t have the refund

As are we. So many hands in the pot on this one, I feel as if Alcon handled this pretty incorrectly.
I know it's not you guys. I just want everyone to beware that ALCON is complete garbage

I also regret that I bought this set, they work very poorly and I do not advise anyone to buy them
