Advice on private party selling

GMTV initially offered 82-84 for my 2022. When I refused, they asked me for a number...they agreed to 92.5k. But when it came to crunch time they reneged to 90k. Told them to kiss off. YMMV

I'd lean towards trade in for the simplified process and way less effort. Since you don't own the trucks the pool of willing buyers is going to shrink due to more hassle with transferring the title. Additionally, if you bought at a discount and didn't pay MSRP+ you have more flexibility in the price if you're willing to sell for less than "market" (at high effort) but still wind up having enjoyed a free truck during your ownership.

Trade it unless you have a lot of time. The pool of potential buyers for a used $90k truck is small. Even smaller if those who can afford it aren't willing to save some money by traveling to get your truck. Even smaller if you have a lien on both of those. Smaller than that if you have strict payment requirements.

I wouldn't wait too long though, I noticed that some dealers are getting quite a few used TRX's sitting on their lots.

GMTV offered me 83k as a final offer. Local Infinity dealer just offered me 97k. So the Dodge dealer would have to offer at least 91k to compete with that.

The tax credit alone is worth trading it in to the dealer.

That is true unless the dealer offers me 85k...which I could see them doing. That is the dilemma. If I can sell it for more than the tax will cost on the new car(lets say 5500 bucks give or take), then it's worth it. Especially if I'm selling to a dealer or CarMax and there is no risk.

How much did you pay for it? I’d say you can at least get what you paid for. 1500 miles is nothing and dealers are still up charging. Selling it private is such a huge hassle. Like some people have stated above, unless you have a lot of time, the market in whatever area you’re in is small for a 95-100k truck. Especially if something happens to the truck after you sell to someone private, they can come after the seller for damages and what not. You might lose a few bucks through a dealer but you won’t have to worry about a thing. Tough situations

Ok.... just because I'm a complete smartass, I gotta ask:

Still with the same wife as when you got the trucks?

Or has she been traded in days ago? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I just sold my 2018 Raptor to those guys
They found me on Autotrader and made me a good offer, Zelled a deposit right away. Sale was at my local Chase bank. Very easy and safe deal.
Auto trader or even car max are sneaky good options. If OP has time I’d shop around as many places as you can if they don’t go private route.
