4th on Lane Keep Assist being one of the MOST annoying options on any new vehicle.
Either its VIBRATING the steering wheel (Toyota and Lexus)
Or it PULLING on the wheel in our RAMs. I turned it off and leave it off!

How did you do it? Was it an aftermarket kit or did you do it through software already on the truck?

Edit: Can the dealership add it?

You need to have the dealer add the sales code, which I believe their rep needs to do it.

I used alfaobd. Just an app thst connects to the canbus through a Bluetooth obd port reader. And you need a security gateway bypass and you can make the changes.

I'm a big fan of lane assist because most of my drives are on narrow country two lane roads where an inch off the white line is gravel/steep ditches. Its nudged me over quite a few times if I'm messing with the uconnect. Gives me some peace of mind I won't land in a ditch or worse, given how this thing just hogs the road and doesn't allow much leeway on the narrow stretches.

It works for me. Think it depends on route of travel. I'd turn it off trudging around any metro areas or unlined country roads

My order is still in D status. But my dealership called me today with a truck that just came in and it has all the options I selected except for the advanced safety group. How much, if any, of the advanced safety group could be retrofitted?

Does the truck still have forward collision assist? That may not be the actual name of the feature but it stops you before hitting something in front of you.

I always turn this feature off.

When your truck is spazzing out through a drive through or dropping your kids off at school, it’s pretty annoying.

That is not an accurate statement. What you are seeing is every TRX listed in Ram’s system even if it is in transit to a dealership with a buyer waiting. As soon as the truck is built and issued a window sticker it automatically goes into their inventory system for dealerships regardless of it already being reserved.

Don’t believe me? Go type in the zip code for Koons and you will see mine and 100+ other trucks that are sold orders waiting on delivery to the dealership and not on the ground, in stock, for sale trucks.

Lane keep assist is awful. That’s the reason I didn’t order this package. Sucks, because I wanted the forward collision warning and the adaptive cruise control. But the lane keep assist just interferes far to often. I hate the feeling of fighting my truck to avoid road imperfections.

You can set it to low. I like it but our lanes are narrow and keeps me from having to worry about it.

I’m my opinion it doesn’t matter how low you can set it, it only assists you 3 times before shutting off. If you go to avoid a pothole without signaling, it pulls you back into the lane. Active lane centering, now that’s a feature I’d like. Ford offers it. Keeps you centered, doesn’t bounce you off the lines

and my reference was to new and used which is relevant based on only being out a year and what dealers are trying to sell used for Also keep in mind this does not include a lot of private sellers and not all car dealerships list their cars on cars.com so the number could be as high as 2000

What you shared is not 1400 cars sitting on lots. Probably 500-600 of those are orders that have been built and shipped to dealerships and automatically appear on listings as available when they are in fact not available. If you search used only it returns about 700 trucks which can be more or less assumed to be available for sale on lots.

and that’s only what’s on cars dot com dude that’s allot of cars for a car that cost this much, search raptors also Dealer in my area has multiple raptors coming in all unsold he’s trying to hit home runs on everyone of them he’s gonna end up getting stuck with them, The first year the hellcats came out deal was were trying to hit home runs on them a lot of those deals ended up selling them as leftovers and they lost money on them and when the hellcat came out the economy wasn’t going in the opposite direction like it is right now this is my first rodeo I’ve been buying $100,000 cars for 30 years

I can guarantee that the trucks are added to the system automatically as soon as they have a window sticker published in Ram’s system. Any order, dealer stock or customer ordered, is populated on Ram’s dealer websites and cars.com which pulls from those websites. It’s not something that requires effort.

My truck showed up on Koons website and cars.com the day after the window sticker was published.
