I obtained my own financing through NFCU yesterday and plan to pick up my truck on Monday. Normally I finance at the dealership which means that I can take the truck home right after signing. I am assuming it is different since I got my own financing? Does anyone know if I have to wait for Navy Federal to issue payment to the dealer now? I have sent the credit union a message asking next steps as well but I figured I would ask here since I am sure others have experience.

On a side note, I received a call from the dealership asking me if I would be willing to pay a 1% higher rate and finance with them directly since they gave me the car at such a low price. All in all it would have increased my total loan cost by about $1,500..... I obviously declined the request. :-)

I had my credit union send me with a check when I picked mine up. They also offered wire instructions or the check could be sent over night by carrier.

NFCU should be sending you a check.

Never mind. They just said to come in today and they will hand me a check for them. Guess I am good to go.
I was getting ready to comment on your original post, I have used NFCU for the last 2 vehicles, and both times they have had me come in and pick up the check. Quick and easy.

I know this isn’t a credit forum, but with regards to NFCU, I recently joined with the sole intention of financing through them. I know they use an internal score along with traditional FICO model. Probably be about 4-5 months before truck is delivered ( I’m an optimist ) lol. Do you think that’s enough time to develop a relationship with them? Also any info on credit score ranges they consider would be appreciated!

I'm curious, what % rate did you get? I know housing rates are up pretty dramatically lately, curious what care rates are doing these past 4-6 weeks?

I got 2.44% a couple weeks ago from my credit union. The rate was good on 24-84 month loans.

3.19% for 72 months which is excellent. The 2.x% was for 36 months.

I have 1.49% on other vehicle but getting a loan in the last week has definitely shown they are heading higher

I was not a member until last week. I filled out everything online. Made a $5 savings deposit online then applied for the loan online. I had approval in 2 days and picked up a check the next day. I became a member, got a loan and picked up a check all in past 2 weeks with no prior banking history with them. You have 15 days I think to accept the loan once it is approved. Then 1.5 months for payment to start

PenFed still has 2.09 if your dealer is a TrueCar dealer. Don’t have to use it, just put in a request through the PenFed TrueCar website and you will get the better rate. Delta FCU still has the 1.48% if you meet their membership requirements.

I tried to get into Delta but couldn’t. I donated to the Creeflow ministry as their members can join but I was never able to get a response from anyone there with giving me a welcome letter which is the proof that Delta needs. I tried though :)

I offered to buy them new rotor blades for their helicopter but they said I still couldn’t join the ministry. I’m guessing a turbine would have done it. This inflation even has Jesus requiring more.

Lol that was such a weird offer from your dealer. Typically they would give you a better rate to have you use their lender so they can get commission. Maybe you’ve had yourself a best rate possible, I guess.
