Does anyone think they will be releasing a rebel or trx lite with the 392 ? It would produce more hp than the ecoboost raptor and fill the gap between a regular v8 and super charged monster, plus mpg would improve

Meanwhile the rest of us are hoping for a Redeye…. Not a downgrade.
That’s gonna happen for sure cause of the r dropping. I was just hoping for something with trx style suspension but a larger towing capacity and better mpg with that v8 sound , I love the look of the raptor but that v6 just doesn’t cut it for me

There was supposed to be a non supercharged TRX that Ram confirmed it'll be available "Not at introduction." And that was in 2020. One of my sources told me it was supposed to be released last summer as a 2022 model but was shelved because of parts shortages that would affect the 6.2 TRX production. Ram confirmed the 6.2 is staying until 2024 because behind the scenes I'm hearing their hybrid system isn't performing well, so I think at least 2024 before you see a Hurricane 510 in a less powerful TRX

We would do a 392 1500 and replace our Yukon xl (suburban). Our Yukon is skinny inside. The ram 1500 just has more space inside with the exception of a worthless 3rd seat. A camper shell and it will have all the Same storage.

The TRX

2 words, Power Wagon. I doubt they'd cannibalize that market to move the 6.4 to a 1500.

I don’t think the 392 is stout enough. The 5.7 is a better built motor. They could change that by beefing up the internals but I don’t think they’d do that.

As much as I lament saying this…

Electric is where everyone is going. ICE is dying. There won’t be a Red Eye. They’ll be a hybrid plugin or an all electric version to replace what we have.

The hellcat is dead. They’re not going to try to chase the raptor R for a very small remaining market share when gas is approaching $10.00. In a different world… totally…. I predict the raptor R is a 2-3 year run, tops…. Before you see an electric hybrid raptor replacement.

A 392 would get worse mpg than the hellcat motor. Its the 4wd, tire size and weight that makes this thing what it is, no way around that, especially with less power.

I disagree, the media and GOV hype should not be believed.
Gas prices will go back down, just like they did after the spike in 2008.

Sales of EV = 3-4% of all new vehicle sales.......
Of those, 20% return to an ICE vehicle.......
If all new vehicles sold in the USA were EVs, it would take 20-25 years to switch all cars on the road to EV.
At the current rate of EV sales, it will take 200 years to switch all cars on the road to EV.
Manufacturers will not walk away from 97% of their market share (ICE vehicles).

ICE vehicles will be around for a LONG, LONG time.

Here is my guess.
The TRX will still have 700 HP, but it will come from a 392 at 500 HP and a 200 HP axial flux electric motor (sandwiched between the engine and trans). The big downside will be the extra weight of the batteries.

I would be extremely surprised if a smaller v8 model is released. I would expect we might get a model with the new Hurricane turbo I6 if anything. The top version makes over 500hp right now. It would be a great way for Ram to release the TRX lite and introduce the new motor before sunsetting the hellcat motor and releasing TRX's successor with a hybrid version of the I6 making 700+ hp.

Exactly, could you imagine how terrible it would handle 2000lbs more of battery/elec motors on top of the heavy 6.4 or even 5.7 Hemi? The I6 Hurricane was designed for this reason, standalone and in conjunction with a fully hashed out electric hybrid system unlike that half-baked 23 mile (yeah right) range turd in the 4xe.

Exactly. Plus they can make the rear drive from the I6 and front only electric. Reduces weight because there wouldn't be a transfer case and less parasitic loss.
