I’m thinking about selling my 22 and moving to a Final Edition 24, or a 24 Raptor.

I’m still trying to decide, but in the meantime:

I’ve always been annoyed as hell of how dim my instrument /gauge lighting is along with how unbalanced it is as compared to the 12” Uconnect screen on my TRX.
It’s either blindingly bright with the adjustment in the last detent (and you lose your footwell and other ambient lighting) or it’s way dim and the ambient lighting is on.
Very user UNfriendly.

This seems to be a common complaint across the board on the performance line for Stellantis. I’ve read the same complaints on the Demons, SRTs, etc with the analog guages.

I have not seen the new digital dash, but was hoping the new digital dash is brighter and more balanced than the previous analog gauge cluster that Ram had installed.

My previous Raptor had great interior lighting….the gauges IMO were balanced perfectly with the nav/stero display. Too small of a display of course but that’s been changed. Of course the Raptor has a shit V6 that uses sound in the stereo to make it sound like a V8. Pathetic.

Those of you with 23’s or 24 TRXs…how is the digital dash? How is build quality in general ?

Thanks!

Digital Dash is nice. more configuration than Raptor screen, but both are nice. Raptor main infotainment screen is better though imo. Can't go wrong with either.

Yes it definitely looks more hi-tech. More concerned about overall brightness in the evening hours when the dusk sensor trips the headlights and dims everything.

I have not experienced a cluster in a 21/22 but I am enjoying the digital cluster with no complaints, lots of customization options I love it.

I think its pretty well balanced. But I do run my lights fairly dim. on my 24 you can adjust the ambient lighting separate from the dash lights. do the 21/22 not have the 2 rheostats? Although I will say I do like the analog gauges better than the digital, but I seem to be the only one who feels that way haha

My 21 has both adjustments. And i also find it to be well balanced and easily adjustable

You can adjust the uconnect brightness in settings. Doesnt change cluster or ambient lighting, but could set the uconnect closer to the cluster brightness

If you bump the rheostat up to brighten the gauges, you lose the ambient lighting. They shut off entirely in the door pockets and foot wells.
Hmm, mine doesnt do that, i can adjust both when the lights are on

Yep. Unfortunately if you do that, in the daytime the Uconnect becomes too dim to see clearly. At least for me in my truck.
Theres a setting for with lights on, and with lights off that can be adjusted. Unless its different on the uconnect 5 than the 4

Thanks for the reply. So if you turn the rheostat for the GUAGEs up to the last click, where the cluster gets very bright…your footwell and door handle ambient lighting stay on?? I’ll take a picture of mine tonight and post it. Mine is a 22, and my ambients go out. There is zero adjustment available with the 2nd rheostat.

Yes, if you turn it all the way up til it clicks, it does shut off the ambient lighting. I think fuse f36 under your dash is missing or blown, or just not seated all the way as this was a problem from the factory.

Cool! I’ll look at it tonight and update the thread. I appreciate all the great info!

Sorry, wrong fuse. Its not f36, thats an exterior light. Had the right dimmer switch clicked so the lights werent changing. Still looking for the right fuse. Will update when i find it

So if you turn your right dimmer all the way up just before it clicks, does the left dimmer work? Once it clicks, the ambient lights do go off, but if you turn the right dimmer all the way up to just before that click, the left dimmer will control the brightness of the ambient lighting

Correct. But the gauge lighting before that click is very dim in real life. My Raptor gauge lighting looked like the TRX gauge lights when the rheostat is pushed to the last detent.

You can see me switching the rheostat past the detent off/on here.

Seems to be a little dimmer than the 12" or rear view but that is mostly attributed to the night mode on the map display I think.
