22 TRX Starting Issue

@PotterTRX have you seen this before? Curious what your thoughts may be. I was thinking losing prime/ fuel draining back into tank and it is taking a little bit of time to prime the fuel line again. Is the check valve at the fuel rail or built into the pump or something completely different on the Hellcat/ TRX?
I totally agree with you, sounds like a loss of prime issue, personally haven't had any doing this. It would be interesting to before starting it turn the ignition to the run position and off a few times to prime the fuel system and see if it starts up like normal vs. the long crank

Dealership came back and said their lead tech can’t find an issue and went up to the factory level and they said it doesn’t sound like the starter and is fine. Mopar for ya

If you screw a fuel pressure gauge onto the fuel rail Schrader valve and prime the lines it should hold pressure shouldn't it? Those gauges are cheap and available at O'Reillys.... I would think you could quickly diagnose a loss of prime or "bleed off" this way?

Why would you do this for a truck under warranty? Just take it to the dealer.

Fair. I personally have several reasons for why I wouldn't but I suspect I'm in the minority. Good luck OP, hope you don't get the run around and the dealer doesn't waste your time.

I was thinking the same thing.

There is clearly a starting issue. The video you posted is not normal. I suspect they didn't let it sit long enough before trying to start and probably didn't check to see if fuel prime was being lost. I have been out of the tech game for a while but I haven't forgot everything. I would be a huge thorn in their side. They aren't easy to deal with but if you haven't got @RamCares involved, do it now. It is unacceptable to not get this resolved for you.

Next time go out to truck and cycle the button 2 times without trying to start, just don't press brake pedal. This will prime the fuel system real good. Let's do this and see if it starts faster. I've been a tech for 33 years, maybe I can help some.

I doubt they even checked fuel pressure.

Keep an eye on your IC coolant reservoir. Hard start and rough idle, could be an IC brick leaking.

I know others have commented extensively, but I'll add my comments as well. I've had the truck about 10 months now, through some very cold days all the way to some very hot days, and it's never once started like that. It's always an immediate start. One thing I have seen though, is that if I back out of my drive too quickly after starting, once I put it into drive, it almost stalls. This has happened to me maybe 2-3 times total and it's usually when I'm in a hurry and don't let it idle down after start. I'm not a car guy at all so I have no clue if they could even be related, but I thought perhaps a fuel flow issue?

Still happening here and there, took it back, no one understands why... lol

Old post but did you ever determine what was causing this issue?

Sounds like some bad fuel possibly

Thanks, mine is doing this only after truck sits overnight. MIL Clicked on today, P0171 and P0174 both banks lean. I’m running a Dusterhoff flex fuel setup. I suspect a bad top off of e85, 18 gallons. As this issue started the morning after I topped off the tank I pulled a data log, which showed the alcohol content at 21%, which does not make sense for e85. I sent the file to my tuner, for any insight they may be able to provide, but I have not heard back. I had the truck towed to the dealer to let them troubleshoot.
