22 Order Banks

I bet it winds up being more like a month.
Dealer is supposed to let me know. My brother just got 2022 TRX yesterday. I'm hoping to move him up to 2023 TRX for little or no money out of pocket. Remains to be seen what TRX resale values will be. TRX is bargain compared to Ford Raptor R dealer markups of up to $50K.

If you’re placing an order make sure you go through one of the supporting vendors. Easy to get a 10k under msrp deal or 4% under invoice.

I placed my order the last day of Feb. it was built by April 15. Then there was a delivery delay…I ended up being able to pick it up on July 1st. Not all timing is the same of course but there’s a seemingly avg delivery time for orders placed around feb ‘22.

Yes, I read about the supporting dealers and their deals for ordering a new vehicle. Thanks.

He said he would not like the digital dash, LOL.
I wouldn't either, defeats the purpose of having a truck with over 700 HP, I want to see that needle move lol

off topic how do you like TRX compared to your Raptor? What did you end up doing with it?

I had a Gen 2 that I traded in for a Gen 3 order last summer. Tried to get a TRX locally and was given the ADM runaround….so I stuck it out for the Gen 3. Got it the last day of December ‘21. Loved it. A true improvement over the Gen 2.

Now on to the question you asked… I traded my Gen 3 in on this TRX once I found Dan Cummins and their 4% under invoice deal. Made a little bit on the trade and got the TRX order for a screaming deal at Dan Cummins. So financially it was a win. On to the performance and feel. The TRX takes a completely different approach with their “supertruck”. The Raptor drives like an off-road machine. Ford did a great job of making it feel small once you’re in and driving it. Doesn’t blow you away with power, but the drive modes and suspension are well executed. I had zero complaints aside from the quirky 10 spd and the v6 (it’s more than adequate, but the engine alone isn’t going to wow anyone). I’ve had three Fords since 2017 with the 10 spd and the transmission will impress some days and then will all of a sudden give you fits when you least expect it. Random shifts that would nearly make me eat the wheel at least once a week. Off-road, the Raptor really shines. On Road, it’s fun and a very nice truck but that’s about it. The interior on the Gen 3 was much improved from the Gen 2 as well…a bit of a futuristic tech approach.

The TRX feels more like luxury missile. If that makes any sense at all. It feels bigger. It looks bigger. It certainly sounds bigger. The steering is tight. The suspension, while not as cushy as a raptor, feels more sport tuned to me. When I first drove off the lot in the TRX It was obvious I liked the power train, but I really wasn’t sure I was in love with Rams approach to the interior design, the interface with uconnect, and the overall driving experience. Chalk that up to only being familiar with Fords and Toyotas. Now that I have a month under my belt, and have adjusted, I absolutely love this thing. The engine is a no brainer….absolutely thrills. The transmission is worlds better than Fords 10spd. I haven’t had the chance to take the TRX anywhere other than forest service roads yet, but it really has impressed me on those. So much predictable power…it’s just flat out fun. One surprising thing I found out recently was how soft it “lands”. I got just a tiny bit of air yesterday for the first time, maybe 1/2”-1”….and the truck handled it surprisingly well. Truly shocked me with as tight as the steering is, and how well I feel it corners for a massive, fast truck. So on road, it destroys the raptor. Off-road, I feel so far that it’s at least is a draw…jury is out til I get to play with it a bit more. And the luxury focused interior is really, really nice…I give the nod to TRX there (interior materials are much nicer than Ford). I wish Uconnect wasn’t as glitchy as it is…(but the ford touch screen was glitchy as heck too). Exterior design I think the TRX wins as well. Beast of a design, with plenty of brute presence, but still has really nice body lines that aren’t just blocky angles. The only thing I would do differently, and this is a very small complaint, is to swap the drive mode buttons for a dial, and put physical buttons on the panel for the seat ac/heat and camera. Super minor gripes.

Sorry for the long response…I’m looking for absolutely any excuse to drive anywhere. Love this truck. While I really liked the Raptor, I would swap the Gen 3 for the TRX again in a heartbeat. Interested to see what the Raptor R holds in store…but Ram moved the bar awfully high.

I don't understand everyone's hesitancy about the digital dash. My 22 F150 has it, and it's awesome. The gauges are still made to look like traditional gauges. You still have a "needle" that moves. It's just a visualization of gauges on a screen. The only difference is they can add data and visualizations around the gauges. So your info on the truck regarding power delivery in 4WD, driving modes...all kinds of stuff...is much larger, easier to understand, visually appealing. For example, when I change into sport mode the gauge edges turn red. Tow/haul, they turn yellow. Easy to know what mode you're in at a glance.

I say again--you still have gauges. At least with how Ford has implemented it.

I've driven with analog gauges and digital gauges, and although there's no rhyme or reason to it, I get more satisfaction out of analog gauges. it's just a personal preference. I actually think the current mix of analog and digital has a great balance

I thought I would be disappointed giving up the all digital gauge cluster on the F150 for the TRX…now that I have it, I prefer the current TRX set up. Agree with you on the balance. I’ll always want a speedo and tach, so them being permanent with flexibility for customization the other zones is nice.

What's the general consensus on the timeline for '23 ordering? August?

Thinking August with production set to begin in October. At least that is what I gather from those in the know on this forum.

I think Ram will elevate their digital dash compared to Fords. If it has the same functionality as the Grand Wagoneer, you’ll be able to view the navigation on the instrument screen which is pretty useful in my opinion. If I didn’t have a 22 on order, I would order a 23 with the digital dash in a heartbeat.

Fingers crossed but might be a chance we don't get that.
