Hello everyone,
I have a 2021 trx and only 1500 miles
First got check engine light on
Then message I/c cooling level low
I went to the dealer first in Van nuys,ca
I left the truck for 2 days then service advisor called me and said the problem was to reset the computer!!!!
Less then 48 hours when i drove the truck got message again ic cooling level low ,
I went today to dodge dealer in simi valley
After 4 hours he called me and told me the

Auxiliary Coolant Pump

Parts 68430016AA
Need to be replace ???
Brand new truck i hope they will solve the issue and that’s right …
Will update you soon .

Sucks but sounds like a simple fix. Did they tell you if the aux coolant pump you need is on backorder or not?

they told me i will get answer tomorrow
When they receive the part .

If coolant low error may not be a bad pump. In fact is not likely the actual route cause at all. Ram has had a hard time evacuating the air from the TRX blower coolant system. So when there is air you get the code you are getting or a pump performance code. It just depends on where the air pocket is. The same pump has been used since 2015. With some variations. But design wise same thing. And yet it seems only the Trx is having so many issues. Not likely a part failure. Impossible no. But since techs ( I am a tech ) just read the code instead of actually diagnose you get the sudden rash of “bad parts”. But that’s FCAS fault. The warranty pay system is highly flawed.

FYI there is no actual level sensor. The coolant sensor at the blower triggers this error in correlation with the 4 map temp sensors on the blower. If it’s out of range this code comes up.

So as the owner you are left to deal with a vehicle sitting while a part ( a part most likely not really needed ) is ordered and received. And like I said due to part shortages and mis diagnoses causing increase demand. The sitting time is lengthy.

this has been a common issue and an air bubble due to improperly filled IC system can kill a pump quickly.

a new pump fixed this error on my 21. I am taking delivery of my 22 today so we will see if they hired a new intercooler filler up in detroit or not.

Thank you for your response ,

The parts will arrive in 30 days
Of course in back order !!!!!
There is any different solution?
If i will keep driving the truck like that
It will damage the engine ?

I just got this message on my dash today too. 1580 miles on the truck.
I too would like to know that if it needs a part like yours does, whether I can drive it while I wait for the part to come in. Does anyone know?

Don't drive it if the coolant is low. If you're randomly getting the message at 1500+ miles it's very likely a real issue and not a bad job purging the air. Several of us (myself included) have had to get the intercooler radiator replaced as they seem to like to leak there.

Ask your dealer. I personally wouldn’t drive it. If you have a dead vehicle (can’t drive it) reach out to @RamCares and have them work on expediting the part to your servicing dealer. You have to stay on top of it. If it’s on backorder (which it sounds like it is) they can reach out to the supplier or do a nationwide search to find the part in another dealers inventory. It sucks but there’s just limited parts to go around. This entire parts shortage / COVID situation is a complete mess. Your dealer can only do so much to get the part and they’re likely busy wrenching away on other vehicles to worry too much about where the part is.

Mine is at the dealer today for a coolant flush to see if the message is being caused by an air bubble. I brought it in last week and there were no codes when they ran diagnostics and no visible leaks in the coolant system, yet the "I/C Coolant Level Low" message comes on for a few seconds everytime I start the truck.
I will put an update on this thread once the coolant flush is done.

This was the same as mine, no leaks, no obvious air bubble, just failed pump.

They did the flush. No change with the message on the dash. They will have a replacement auxiliary pump for me on Nov. 4th. So the saga continues...

Did yours throw a code? Did the pump actually fail while you were driving it? I have a week and a half of a wait, so I'm wondering what my limitations are.

There was no code, just the startup message. The pump must have been failed, or at least intermittently working, but I kept driving it normally (ie not hard) and IC temps never got over about 140 which is fine. Only had 600 miles on it but I have since traded it in for a 22 and so far no issues on that, except for the buggy UC5...

OK good, thanks for all the info!

My truck is at the dealer for this exact issue. No leaks and coolant level was low. I wonder if mine also has a bad pump.

Wouldn't be surprised. I've been driving mine like normal all week, even launched it today. Drives the same in case that info helps you out in some way.
