So I have a possible opportunity to go from my 2.4L Hellcat supercharger, to a 2.7L Demon Supercharger, but I have some questions...

First, my new motor is going to be a Redeye Long Block with an FRP Cam and ATI 10% Lower.

Current Supercharger is a 2.4L freshly rebuilt by SDG with new Rotors, new oil and bearings, and an SDG Billet Bearing Plate.

Demon Supercharger condition is currently unknown. I would inspect rotors before deal. But other than that it is stock.

I bought my cam from FRP and he wanted my shift point at 6800 RPMs to use the cams power band. 2.90 is about as small as I could go to hit 6800 without overspinning the blower above 36,000 RPMS.

The 2.7L cant spin as high as the 2.4L, and has a max RPM of 34,000, but obviously pushes more air...Lowest pulley I could go with to still hit 6800 RPMs is 3.00...not much different, but still different.

So my question is this...

What blower would be best? 2.4L with SDG Bearing Plate and fresh rotors and a 2.90 Pulley? Or stock 2.7L with a 3.00 Pulley?

I would possibly be willing to send the 2.7 to SDG for a Bearing Plate and oil/bearing refresh, provided the rotors look good...but Im curious if the gains of the 2.7 over my current 2.4 would be worth it to even trade...

👉 The 2.7L will likely give you:
•+40 to +80 WHP
•Better top-end (especially with your 6800 shift)
•Cooler operation
•More room to grow
If it were me. I would NOT trade straight across.
I’d only do it if I get the 2.7 + cash OR I know I’m rebuilding it anyway.
Keep your 2.4L if its an even trade and your not chasing 900+ WHP
and
Always remember 2 in the bush is better is better than one in the hand🤔

So my setup is already pushing above 900 whp.

Redeye Long Block
FRP Titan 2 Cam
S&B Intake
SDG Bearing Plate
SDG Hellephant Killer Snout
Nick Williams 108 Throttle Body
MMX Fuel Rails
ID1300 Injectors
FAD Returnless Triple Pump Fuel System
ATI 10% Lower Pulley
Griptec 2.90 Upper Pulley
IC Chillers Interchiller
E85

I had my 2.4L running a 2.75 Upper and I tore up the rotors. SDG rebuilt the supercharger with new rotors when I got the bearing plate installed and it has less than 500 miles on the rebuild.

Ok. You win. So you already know the answer lol. You have a lot of air going in so matching that with the 2.7 air going out = 🏆
Trade send in for the Bearing Plate and oil/bearing refresh.
