Hey everyone,

We wanted to share with you Star Case S2121000015 REV. B. This Star Case is a second revision of S2121000015 REV. A that addresses the driveline “clunk” noise while coming to stop, when the transmission is in a coast downshift to stop, or when just starting to tip into throttle to launch after a momentary stop. This new revision addresses how to repair this issue. We recommend bringing this Star Case revision into your dealer for repair. As always, if you’d like some assistance while your vehicle is at the dealership, you can always reach out to us. We can be reached via direct messaging.

You posted the overview/observation, but what is the root cause and fix if this is not transmission related?

Any way to get the parts before 10/1? Thanks!

They are probably lucky to get people to show up to work let alone work,we are union where I work and we are full of lazy people that don’t care.always want more money though even though they turn out poor quality work

Those of you that have contacted your dealerships about this, did they ask you to leave your TRX for them to diagnose the issue first? Mine is asking me to leave it with them for 2-3 days for diagnosis before agreeing to do anything.

No that is crazy, should be in and out until the parts come. Talk to the manger or ramcares.

Look at the OPs post, there's several parts now with revision B. A designated service kit for the issue. Hopefully it's a more permanent fix.
It's actually the 3rd reply down that's why I didn't see it but that's awesome. I haven't had the issue (yet) so if I do at least there is hope!

I'm at the dealer now, they won't put me on the list until they check out the truck, asked me to drop it off for a couple days. Told them that will never happen. I even showed them the tsb.. almost just want to buy the kit, and do it myself..

No. In and out in 15 min. Parts ordered and received at dealership in about 10 days. Scheduled for fix 9/8.
I thought these parts weren't going to be available to order until October. Your dealer already got them? I am going to have to get on my dealer about is.

My dealer insisted on checking it out for themselves but I just waited for it. Didn't take very long.

That’s why I did my own. F that. a couple days! It’s and hour job.
If I’m not mistaken, the driveshaft gets replaced in the latest revision.

Where did you hear that? The TSB says the same thing as the Star bulletin - boot kit and grease.

Someone posted a service bulletin on one of the FB groups. I didn’t save the image but I’ll try to find it again.

Here is the full bulletin
Thank you for posting this I showed this to my dealer today and it made everything super easy they checked my drive-line numbers to verify they match the service bulletin and that was it they are going to order the service kit for me and call me when it comes in.

I had taken my truck in to be checked out last year because I was worried about the bump when taking off, and there was no fix then but my file was noted so there was no need to reinspect they read the service bulletin and that was it.
