Likewise! I even pulled the OEM one off just to take a look around lol. I dont have a 3rd brake light leak and i'm petrified to get one. That's like a dealbreaker for me. If i ever develop a leak there or the sunroof and water comes in, if i dont catch it quickly, I'll prolly have to sell the truck. I'm like oddly petrified of black mold after having it under my "bamboo" fake carpet at my mother's house in high school for like a year lol.
I haven’t bought one because I don’t want to mess with the 3rd brake light and cause a leak, so I get it!

Added review vid for the Lensun hood-mounted solar!

We never knew this existed until about 6 months ago. Now we don’t have to mount a fixed panel to our roof when we overland! 🤘🤘

Just saw the video on the solar panel. I’m highly interested in this product but have several questions.

How is it holding up; the panel and control module?

Are you able to leave the solar panel connected to the car battery while driving around?

Does the control module act as a safety net to prevent over charging the battery or any sort of electrical issues?

Any cons to the system?

Thank you as always!

Panel and control module are holding up perfectly. No issues with those whatsoever. Only issue has been the little wire loom clips they provide didnt stick very long onto our filthy dirty engine bay haha.

Solar panel is connected to the truck battery 24/7. Gives us some peace of mind for when charge lots of stuff overnight that we wont wake up to a dead battery. Control module is what prevents overcharging. We have 0 cons so far to report other than initial investment. Love the aux ports too. Not sure if you made it that far into our vid but we rigged up a 2-port USB to it so if you wanna get fancy you can install a nice waterproof plug into the grill/bumper or somewhere and have power on the outside of the truck if you want/need! Lemme know if you have any other questions my man!

Awesome thank you. Interested in getting it to maintain the battery as well.

I actually watched the whole video. I was wondering what’s the amp/ voltage on the accessory wire.

that I'm not sure about. I cant remember 100% but i believe the panel/module kit comes with an in-line fuse. I dont remember the amperage but I'm sure it's not higher than 20A. If you want me to check on the fuse later, let me know!

It's a 15A fuse in there. Cant recall whether it came with the kit or i installed.

  • Rocky Talkie: the nicest walkie we've ever used in 30 years!
+1. We used these in Moab last year, and when the manufacturing plant manager at my work was looking for a radio solution, I recommended these. She asked that I order a couple for testing, and they loved them. They now use six or more across the factory floor, probably more in the future. (Plant is about 300 people.) I know a mfg plant is not exactly what they were designed for, but they still work very well.

There are cheaper solutions out there, but nothing seems to work quite as well as these.
