I was just browsing and noticed there are A LOT of used TRX’s for sale out there. Granted miles are low & in general used inventory lower so dealers paying more for used...BUT there are more used TRX’s trying to make a profit than new & they are adding crazy markups lol. About the same if not more than new but TRX seems to have less NEW inventory & more USED now. Guessing many used because people are trying to make a profit. I do not understand why someone would pay more for used than new unless it is just a “want now” thing. Are there really that many willing to pay more for used? I have even noticed people putting TRX on vehicles that are not TRX lol.

I am guessing most of us buying TRX’s are not in dire need of a vehicle. If something happens to my order, I will just wait until the 2022’s vs buy a used that costs more than new. Just crazy to me...not paying more for leftovers when I can get new for less...so makes no sense to me.

Are there actually a lot of people out there paying more for used than new on TRX? Or is it just a bunch of people seeing the hype & trying to profit off of it but they aren’t actually selling? I am guessing the latter since I see so many. I bet used at MRSP would sell like hot cakes but then would not get that profit they are trying to get. Just wonder if those used are actually selling like hot cakes when the used inventory on TRX seems higher than the new inventory on TRX.

Am I the only one that thinks that is crazy & thinks it makes more sense to buy new or just wait until 2022’s & crazy over? But I am a patient girl...have to be to be waiting on a custom build lol.

This truck, like many other "hyped" vehicles in this price range, will have it's fair share of both enthusiasts and those rare folks trying to make a quick flip buck. At the end of the day, those of us here on the forum have spent the time to learn about the vehicle and do our research therefore spending MSRP on a used vehicle may sound absurd. However, for those that haven't done as much hw as us, it may seem like a bargain to get a used truck with 1-2k miles for MSRP considering the stores near them are selling 5-20k ADM.

It's all just perspective but know that you are among the more educated (and i put that lightly) community that loves the TRX.

Also cheers for joining the forum on my last bday!

Yay! Sounds lucky & happy belated Birthday! Maybe that luck will give me a build sheet soon hehe

And have you seen what some people have put their truck through even with only 1-2k miles lol...if only those buying knew

There's an LE at a local dealer that has around 2k miles and they have it listed for 129k! Yikes. lol
I'll order one and wait. If it gets pushed to be a 2022, it gets pushed to be a 2022.

Lol same! I thought it was just crazy.

That’s just the thing I think is crazy. They are not selling the used at MSRP that I saw...they were all well over MSRP. That is what I thought was crazy. I totally get used at MSRP when new is over but some of those used were more expensive than new with markup lol

Maybe it is because places like this telling them it is a deal? Lol

Love the big “Brand New” in pic then underneath you see “used” & the miles lol. That costs 30k more than my actually brand new!

I think it’s idiotic, even though many of the used trucks that are listed for much higher than MSRP have low miles...you know they were mashed in! Many of those people probably knew they would turn around and sell weren’t worried about break in.

I saw a post today on FB from a dealer in TX that stated he can order any TRX for 1k under MSRP.

Totally agree! Some people can put their truck through some shh...stuff even in low miles lol.

If we weren’t headed into May, I would have put another order in just to see which arrived 1st playing the TRX lotto lol. But at this point, will just get a 2022 if mine does not show up before then.

My wait has not been as long as some others (nor as short as some lucky ones hehe)...About 2 months since ordered & almost month & a half since VIN & D status. I would just like to have it before planned vacay in July so I have it’s actual payload to consider a TT for a cross country road trip.

And even though I would like to have it before that vacay, no way in hell I will spent 30k or anything over MSRP for used lmao!!! Would have to actually be an awesome deal for me to give up the stuff I want or accept the stuff I do not want.

Most are purchased from dealer, titled one owner and no miles. The buyer has to do that be able resell it at markup. That is why there are so many out there. There were 40 on ebay the other day. They are just trying to make a quick mark up profit. When in reality if you bought one of those, you now have a second owner depreciation in the blue book/black book system.

Even paying MSRP is not the smartest move, if your not keeping long, but that was the minimum to get one right away.

Nailed it. My truck's sticker is $88,250 including destination. Looking at the order sheet, we know that there is $10k margin on it (roughly 13%). In most vehicle buying situations, it would be dumb to pay MSRP, so it makes it ludicrous to pay $30k ADM for a non-limited run vehicle

Does anybody know if dealerships have mostly tacked on ADM on Dealer Stock, or have they been putting a lot of ADM on customer “sold orders” too??? I’m expecting them to toss ADM on my truck I ordered in Feb.

Did you agree to a price when you ordered? It all depends on the dealer...they should sell at MSRP but I've heard stories where dealers pull something shady when the truck gets delivered. It happened to a guy on this forum, price agreed was MSRP but when it was delivered the dealer said it was damaged and he couldn't buy it. Turns out someone else came in and offered more money so they sold it from under him.

Yeah I read that whole ass thread and it terrified me bro. It was a horror story 😂 Nah, I didn’t agree to a final price. Only thing I have is the dumbass order sheet with specs, names, prices, and where it says sold order. All I did was put down $2500 for the slot. I’m just expecting an ADM of at least 10K when it arrives here in Vegas. Preparing for the worst 🙏🏽

Don't be afraid to walk away from the deal. There are plenty of dealers selling at MSRP.

I would be on the phone with the dealer figuring out the price, if they are adding an ADM and you don’t want to pay that, you don’t want to waste your time finding another one.
