Anyone get those pieces in their hands?

I can see the potential need for the abs guards…. And since I would place an order and get in trouble… thinking maybe why not get more Gucci bits.

But that billet battery stuff is $$$ for just some shiny bits.

Almost ordered the ABS guards just for shits:giggs but couldnt figure out what the F their purpose was. I’ve put corrugated tubing on basically every exposed wire/hose as it is. Feel free to share your insight with those who are clueless

I can only imagine it’s there to protect the sensor from being ripped out or snapped at the axle…

Would it stop it from being ripped out if something snagged it 3” away from the billet guard ya think?

Idk. Maybe, maybe not. It kind of looks like it gives a little more leverage to the sensor…

So if it does get ripped, the wire will break and not the sensor. And we can fix a wire.

It appears that the part is used for a number of vehicles….

You wanna split a pair and find out? $25 each and we'll have @Nick797 mail us 1 each?!

I’ve got a buddy at sdhq.
I’m going to order a set and see what’s what.
I’ll post you an update.

If it is waste of money at least it was one of the lesser wastes…

You da man Fifty. Keep us posted.

I was going to get under the trx and see how exposed the sensors are but it’s raining.

I have my prerunner with the Dana made m220 out back (it’s actually a 46hd essentially a d60 tubes with a smaller pumpkin, but surprisingly strong, even though it’s classified as a m200/220)

My thought is, both are Dana, disc brake with 4 wheel abs and 4 wheels traction control and mass production. And I believe sdhq lists the part for the rubicons rear axle which is super similar to the d46hd

I ordeeed the battery kit too. To make wiring the dual arb power easier.

I’ll be running the trigger from the upfitter switch and through the Nhoverland set up.

I’ll run the power for the arbs through the nh overland kit and then to the battery. The nh overland set up will hold the fuses in the fuse block.

Dang rain…. I wanted to finish the arb install today

Raining here all day too

They will be here Saturday

They got here just now. It’s dark and I have to take the kids to afterschool things. So maybe Saturday.

But they send them as a multi platform sign both the 6mm and a washer… and a 8mm bolt.
The trx is an 8mm

I’d be bummed if my truck was a 6mm and I paid $54 (tax) and shipping for a part that used a washer for a spacer to hold it. Since it is supposed to be a leverage device. Come on. Just cnc 6mm and then 8mm

Anyways, got here quick. Only thing I’ll be able to test this weekend is fitment and then wether or not I think the sensor is in a critical spot needing protection.

Tbh. Ram has done a really good job with the truck reinforcing the frame where needed and over building where needed. Except the brakes those suck.
Unlike the raptor which still needs frame plates. Even on the gen3 which is really a gen6 (they went through a bunch of frame changes each generation.

So I’m going to be suprised if the sensor is out in the open.

Yea i took a look and i didnt see anything obviously exposed but i'm still interested in your feedback when you get time to go under and install.

I was supposed to do a bunch of work today. But my son got sent home from preschool yesterday because of a cold. So he stayed home today.
I was on kid duty… and I swear I caught his cold

that's the joy of parent-ing my man!

I love every second of it

My daughter… and then I… have the flu. So this is the first day I’m up and about… and that’s just to sip coffee.
Will probably be a few more days

Junk.

The idea is good. But since these are “one piece fits multiple platforms” they don’t fit the trx.

The guard is about 1/2mm smaller foot print than the abs sensor base. So the guard sits on top of the base. And because it does and is taller: any leverage on the guard will be transferred to the abs sensor.

Exactly what you would hope it would not do.

The sensors are fairly well hidden and this part actually makes them at more risk.

If the sdhq part was machined so the sensor sat inside the part, so the billet part sat on the axle and not the abs sensor…. Then ok. I could see how it would be a final defense of the wire harness etc.

But no. It actually puts the sensor at risk.
I’ve sent them an email with the above info and pics.

Great feedback man and im sorry it turned out that way. Hopefully they’ll make it right?
