Oh I'm aware of the process, just would love to find one for half the price and no wait time. I'm tossing around the RSI smart cap which I can get but I'm still debating between the look of the RSI vs. a fiberglass topper that looks more integrated into the body line. They are made to order. You place an order with a dealer, give a deposit generally 10% and wait 3-6mo. Exactly what I went through but at least now you have a visual + dimensions etc. I didn’t know if my tent would clear the shark fin antenna when I was going through this and had a plan to remove it and seal in a painted plate but thankfully that went ok. The smart cap is made in South Africa.
There should be a white one at Foutz-Hanon in Farmington, NM.Anyone looking to sell a topper that fits the TRX? Can't find one anywhere.
Looks good! Any regrets with fiberglass compared to the RSI smartcap?I run a Leer topper with a headliner to haul my dogs around. Good product and I am happy with the look. View attachment 89532
I appreciate the info. Can you tell me what model that is and can I be nosy and ask the ballpark price?Oh you certainly don’t get all the fancy bells and whistles with the Leer topper like you can with the RSI. For my application, the price, 5 week turnaround time from order, and having it color match made the Leer an easy choice. I have been running them on my trucks for a couple decades now and have always been happy with the product durability and have even used their warranty a couple times for broken glass with zero issues.
Much appreciated. That seems more in line with what I think they should cost, I’m getting quotes over $5kI want to say it is just their base model cap 100R ordered with the headliner, tint, removable front glass with slider, and upgraded window screens for the dogs. As for the price I will quote Johnny Cash and say I went straight to the factory, it’s cheaper that way. They make them in my home town of Woodland and I get a family discount. Total cost for topper, shipping to Alaska, and installation at my local dealer, $2,900.
I have 37s on mine with no lift up front and don't rub. Wheel offset is the biggest factor. Are you on stock wheels? Finally got my RSI smartcap in and put it on. I have to get used to the looks but it’s already proven to be useful. So with the weight of the smartcap and the decked system (which I love), I had to throw on the eibach springs in the rear to get my rake back. I’m wondering now about adding the eibach kit up front and running 37s. Does anyone know if the 37s will fit with the 1.5” eibachs up front?
I’m running VenomRex 0 offset 20x9I have 37s on mine with no lift up front and don't rub. Wheel offset is the biggest factor. Are you on stock wheels?
With 0 offset you'll likely rub stock height but will be fine with the Eibachs.I’m running VenomRex 0 offset 20x9
