My 37" tire experience

Something in the ECU shuts them off any time the tire size is changed in the computer higher than 35". Nobody really knows why. I have an idea I'm going to try and will share back here!
Ah interesting, had no idea. I wonder if that’s because they figure the radar and sensors will
Not be effective at that specific ride height. Or perhaps there’s a line of code missing above 35”

Buffer overrun exception, no doubt. :)

One thing I've brought up in the past is a question about the exhaust spacing. I wonder if an aftermarket exhaust system that is routed/spaced differently will add some space to the spare area?

I know it would be small, but we are only talking a very small amount of space needed in order to fir the new spare. If there's an aftermarket exhaust that fit a 37" spare easier, then I'd be buying that exact exhaust, lol.

That is a really great point. I haven't seen a need to replace my exhaust, but this would be def be it.

I made a post asking the question a couple months ago, but nothing really came of it.

Shit man, go figure it out so I can carry a full-size spare without killing my cargo capacity. :)

Great write up. I wanted to so 20x9s but found a set of fuel rebels 22x10 with lugs and tpms for 1400 on facebook marketplace. Was hoping to clear 37s but didn't work out so going with 35x13.5r22s next week. My offset was too aggressive to clear properly.

Great write up man, I had been looking at the same wheels specs because the HRE wheels I want only come in 20x9 0-offset. There is hardly any examples of the setup especially at a stock height.

Can you post few more pics at different angles to get a better idea of the stance?

Your opinion from your observations, with a level do you think a 37x13.50 with avoid rub with that particular offset?
Here ya go! Included my other truck in the background, just because. 😂

GREAT Job sir! Thanks for posting this great information!

Assuming you can‘t do an onsite repair and the 35 spare is only temporary, couldn’t someone air down the 37’s to height match all four corners. That’s aways been my emergency backup plan if I didn’t throw the extra spare in back.
The lack of pressure required to make the 37" tire match the 35" in diameter would likely be unsafe to run and pop the bead. It takes a LOT of pressure loss to cause any significant decrease in height.

I’m about to do the same setup except 18 welds 0 offset and 37 13.5 18 BFG ko2
That just came out

I just have the top plate installed got just under 1 in of lift. 41.2 in from floor to front fender (stock tires)

Any chance you measured the height gain from stock suspension 37s to current setup37s?

Did you get a set of welds 18x9 +0 that fit? I had a set that I had to send back as they didn’t clear the caliper.

Truck looks amazing!!! Thank you very much for the great write up and information!
