Hey Guys! This is kinda my introduction to the forum as well as an inquiry. I have a new TRX on order and I am super stoked to get it (hopefully) soon. I live in the Southern Montana area so if you ever have been up or around here you know the name Go Fast Campers. Has anyone in here had any experience with them? They look perfect for my use case as I love to use my truck as a truck but also love to get out and fish, camp, hunt, etc on the weekends. If you have a had a camper (or if you havent) drop your thoughts below! Pic for reference, thx @AMPED

I bought one of the first 20 built for my Tacoma. My use was the same as yours, wanted something that was still useable as a truck topper but also good for camping and such. It was great and the newer versions are even better with improved tents, frame and hinge designs.

I have a buddy that has had his for several years and loves it. If you are outdoors a bunch and ease of access is a huge driver, they are phenomenal. Just higher on the cost range compared to a standard roof top tent setup.

CJC Offroad just added a GoFast to their 'shop' Power Wagon and posted some aggressive off-road testing on IG. Always seemed like a legit company with massive patronage. Also a reputation for choosing/testing/endorsing only quality products, figure if its good enough for them.... :D <- was about to order a full Carli Pintop for my CTD2500 before going TRX route.🦖

Here was the factory visit/install/road trip home and features of the GF in last five minutes ->

This video pretty much seals the deal for me. That whole rig is friggen sweet!!

How heavy are they?

If I had one complaint about my TRX it’s the load capacity. Back of truck sags with random camping gear in the bed and Yakima Overhaul brackets and lock n load rack (admittedly a heavy setup).

Just keep that in mind. A power wagon can handle easily. A TRX? Curious whether it works out.

About 300lbs.

Yea that’s not light and better suited for a HD IMHO.

Here is my Yakima system which is probably 150 pounds lighter. All I have is a hi lift, shovel and two recovery boards on the Yakima. In the bed and cabin just run of the mill camping and fishing gear. The rear sag is noticeable when compared to the front….

Just food for thought OP…

Maybe, but can you lock stuff securely inside your open bed rack or pop the top and have a full size bed in 30 seconds?

At 300lbs it’s pretty damn light for a full topper and tent combined. Definitely doesn’t call for anything close to a HD truck for something that light. I’d still have 1000lbs of payload in my TRX after putting a GFC on it.

Yea I suppose it could work. Though keep in mind weight adds up quickly especially if you have passengers.

I even had sag when I had the super light Yakima low profile rails on.

I did forget to mention I have a retractable tonneau cover which isn’t light.

But I’ll still maintain that the TRX sags easy. I maybe had 400 pounds of gear (counting the cover and Yakima system) and I still get a noticeable sag.

Yeah, the suspension is definitely not geared toward load carrying. The Tacoma's also aren't but it's much cheaper and easier to beef up that rear suspension than what we have on the TRX.

Do it! Love mine. Just drove from Oregon to Maine in it. As others have mentioned between the go fast and decked with gear the Trx sags. With both stock and Geiser springs. Sounds like Eibach is close on their springs that correct that. Another user here had a prototype set and a GFC with level to stock rake.

I can’t say enough about the GFC. It is kick ass, you can push it just as hard as the truck on any road. It stays clean. You gain a ton of storage space with the cab over design. The pass through is awesome. Their utilitarian design really allows you to make it your own.

Just ordered it. Are you running stock rear springs? Could you post a side shot so I can see what the sag looks like?
