Anyone have these? I'm thinking they may provide some protection to the rear fender area. Pics!

Sorry, I just have the regular ones. ☹️

Went by my dealer....they had a new delivery of a 22 TRX that they put XL steps on.

Sweet! I'm sold. They look great and I'm betting the extra few inches will help get in the truck as well. The rock rail feature should help a bit with rocks. I'll still have PPF Ultimate 10 Plus put on the rear fender area.

I'm sold.

Don’t the amp steps tuck under the truck?
Are you thinking the rock rails. The amp won’t give you any protection. Your better off getting mud flaps cause even the rock rails don’t offer that much protection.

They do tuck, but the XLs have a rock rail feature that sticks out about an inch or so. I'll still run Weathertech flaps and PPF. Here's the AMP page. The Ultimate 10 film is really thick too. I'll have it applied to the rear hips.

Hmm didn’t realize they had ones that stuck out like that. Thanks for making my decision harder. I’ll have to find some pics of them on a trx. Thanks

I'm going over again in the morning. I'll get some pics unless the guy picked it up already. It was a bit dark for pictures tonight. I'll post!

Eff it...headed over now. Here are the pics. Thank goodness they keep the lights on! Door opening to ground is 22 inches, these steps should deploy to around half of that. First pic is looking top down so you can see how much the poke.

@Phillytrx there you go!

That's not a rock rail. It's basically an enclosure/cover that is required due to the XL board hanging lower than the standard one. It keeps from having a gap between the rocker area and the step panel. Good choice if you're wanting a lower step and don't mind the reduced ground clearance. I had the XL on my 2500 and swapped them out for the standard Amp boards because they tucked in much tighter under the truck.

That's right - it's rock rail-esq. ;)

I'm looking for something that is just a bit lower. I hate stepping up and then crouching down and sliding in. I'm 6-7 though, so not really normal height. I had factory power steps on an F-150 with just a leveling kit and always wanted something starting lower. I had a 2020 Rebel with nerfs that had steps built in, but those were really too high to be of use for me. Also, I'm looking for something to take a little heat off the rear painted fenders. These should do that along with Weathertech flaps.

I was on the fence with just internet pictures...but what do you know, one in the wild. I think they look sharp. I have not thought much about clearance, but these don't look to affect that much, if at all. They ride along the curved part of the body, hang a bit lower, but nothing too drastic. I'm leveling too, so probably a wash. Anyway, we have real pictures now. You decide!

So I’ve seen people posting lately that they can’t seem to get the AMP steps to fit properly on the 2022 models. Looks like the XL steps don’t have any issues if the dealer installed them.

These actually look pretty good too in the pictures. I ordered the Mopar ones, but not sure if I should stay with them or not.

The Xtreme with double motors seem to be the steps that are giving issues. The regular and XLs have single motors and seem fine.

One of the sales managers just got a 22 TRX and had the regular AMPs put on without issue. So, two data points is what I've personally collected.

Awesome man! Thanks for the info!

I think I might go with the XL now and return the Mopar ones, I really like how they hang a little bit lower and kind of look like the rock rails.

I lose the function on the screen to deploy the mopar steps by going with AMP, but at least they have the led lights. Can’t see myself using the screen to deploy the steps for any real reason.

Yeah. My thoughts too. I'm having the rocker switch installed that'll let me control them if I want to keep them up or down. It'll go right on the area where the headlight switche is located. Here is the page so you can look. $39. Easy call!

Also, while they are not true rock rails they are thick and very well made and coated. Very solid. BTW - shadowing makes it look like some surfaces are gray. No, all black.

Well dang, you just completely sold me on the AMP now! Placing my order in the morning.

Thanks for all the info (y)

Happy to help! I hope others find this useful. TRXs are not common and making decisions based on crappy internet videos and second hand information sucks.

I was going to wait until morning to head over to take pics, but I would have been pissed had the owner showed up and had taken off! 😃

I have Mopar steps both on my TRX and my 2019 1500, and I haven't once used the 'deploy step' function on the screen. On the few occasions where I wanted to have the step down with the door closed, to step up and reach the roof, I just open the door, put my foot on the deployed step, and close the door. The step stays down.
