My Momentum GT Cold Air Intake just came in!

Quick question, does that sensor you broke the clip on just turn out counterclockwise? Mine is coming today and i will be using your video in the background don’t want to make the same mistake.
There is a little plastic tab that prevents you from turning counter clock wise. You can use a trim tool or flat head screw driver to gently lift it up and over the “bump.” Once it clears that bull you turn counterclockwise as mentioned and it will come loose very easily. You should not have to force anything.

If you are still confused just google “remove air sensor ram 1500” and there are YouTube videos.

Lol it’s definitely louder i really like it. Going to buy a second set of filters so when it’s time to clean them I can just install the new set and wash the dirty ones out and let them dry…..
Question: Do these aftermarket intakes create any performance gains? Just curious, as the OEM seems like overkill to begin with.

If every TRX owner did a dyno at the same time on the same exact dyno with the same exact conditions, there would thousands of different numbers literally all over the place. Some would be below 702, some would be 702+. There’s a hundred threads on every hellcat thread about CAI HP Gains and the conclusion is some people get an increase and some get a decrease. I’m a More Air In > Less Air In person.
More importantly…I’m a MORE WHINE!!!!!!!! person. I run/ram LMI in every Hellcat powered car I own except for the TRX.

Thanks Yosh. I get it. I always take the silencer rings out of my turbos.

Its a quarter turn counterclockwise with a small clip holding it in place. I am updating the instructions to help with this.
Damn you AFE lol! Now your updating them hahah!

Canned tunes “can” be reliable but not optimized. Every car is a little bit different… even with the same mods. But you can tune for the most conservative case and fuel, add some margin by pulling a little timing or adding a little fuel, and have something that is an 80-90% solution. The biggest issues I usually find with canned tunes aren’t reliability but driveability. That’s because low throttle points in the map tend to be more “finicky” in terms of providing a good feedback to the user. In other words things don’t feel smooth to the driver if you haven’t dialed things in pretty well across the entire map and the partial throttle areas where VE tables are moving around a lot tend to be the harder parts to tune IMO.

There are benefits to dyno tuning as well as street tuning. Personally I have always tuned WOT on the dyno just so you can easily see how the car likes changes you are making and then plenty of street tuning for trans and driveability. Since the TRX has a wideband built in, I’m comfortable with actually doing street tuning on the entire map as long as you don’t care about a dyno sheet.
You do tuning? In AZ?

I'm really tempted to buy one of these, and install. Im finding doing these mods a lot of fun and rewarding. Gives me projects to work on. Never really modded a truck before, but i did install my catch can a few weeks back and also have a Oracle bumper mount light on order which I'll do once it arrives as it seems to be pretty easily laid out on how to install.

You lost me here...

:(

But seriously - looking forward to following your post closely here. (y)

Nice..
whos got it in-stock ready to ship?

Not myself anymore. Hellcat platform is new to me coming from GM. Dusterhoff is going to tune my TRX remotely (street tuning).
What are your thoughts on SRT Autoworks? It's in our backyard and seems to be a renowned shop that people travel to from out of state.

Any idea who does their tuning? Hellcats are new to me…but I have heard their name a few times. Honestly, anything short of dropping in a new motor should be easy for any shop to handle install. I just focus on the tuner.

Ok got some videos. Shit. Itnis saying file is too large!!! They are only 21 seconds at most. Anyone help me on this? How do i post them?

We need to hear you screaming from 1/2 mile away lol.
