Will never cease to amaze me how you can design and engineer award winning, after award winning automotive products and flub the follow up.....2018 JL Jeep wrangler. Named the worst Wrangler ever. Horrendous frame welds from the supplier of the frames...Over 25 recalls since it's inception and counting, 2019 Ram 1500, Power fold mirrors that will not stop folding in even after they smack against the side glass causing the power fold mechanism to burn out. Still not resolved. The Ram TRX with it's many QC issues...what is next? The 2022 Jeep GC and the Grand Wagoneer??

Just out of curiosity, what's this about the power folding mirror crashing into the glass? I am on my 3rd 1500 now and I have not had a single one hit the glass. For sure gets damn near close and scared me the first time I folded them in, but no contact yet. I personally have not heard about this one, also not looking for it though so that probably doesn't help either 🤣

Yep, my TRX is the same way. They get close, but don't hit. There is an audible 'hard stop' when they are all the way folded, and with them only .25" from the clear glass, that sound may lead someone to believe they actually are making contact.

Other than the same noise as OP on this thread, I haven't had a single issue with my truck. I'm just shy of 2,000 miles, and being that it's fully loaded, I'm cycling all of the gadgets every chance I get. Nothing has failed me so far.

Enjoy. Does our freshly minted TRX's doing this as well??

Good read thanks!

Was a roller coaster of people thinking they had it and then doing science and proving it not to be touching just a loud bump stop... I am still a little lost on this but good to know for sure.

Hopefully the TRX's don't, would be good to get some feedback of current owners though, perhaps a new post with a poll?

Oh man you for sure jinxed it now....

Good to hear though, keep on trucking my friend.

He typed it up very nicely in the notes of my service records. Fca said that it’s something they’re seeing in other trucks but they told my dealer to stand down and stop working on it

......smoking gun

The one member said the mirrors fold so far in that he cannot put the window up if it is down. That is not right. You notice the date of the entry, 12/2018. Jeez, you think this would be fixed by now. My wife's Sportage mirrors power fold in but not far enough where you lose functionality of the window glass. I wonder what the large, trailer tow mirrors do?

Mine sounded like that too.

I think its just something with the 2 belts, a pulley maybe?

probably not related but check your I/C reservoir :)

Amen. Needs more traction!

Or a Youtuber that calls Ram out on their BS because Automotive journalist don't want to miss their invites to media day lol

Let me know if you want a copy of the dealer throwing fca under the bus
Keep it coming. I GOT PAGES of their own employees throwing management under the bus.

Do it up, might need to have one reported on a TR first though....

OHH NOOOOOOOOOO! The dreaded chirp (I think). What say you fellas? Is this the same and did we decide if it's something wrong with the truck?

i didnt really hear the chirp, just curious how many inches is your garage door?

That doesn’t sound too bad..... the question is does it go away or become less noticeable after the truck warms up? Good Luck

I think I'm right at 92 inches. I had someone watch me pull in the first time and they said I was good but they didn't tell me by how much. I'm having wheels and tires put on as we speak but I'm not sure if 35s will matter or if that's what we have now. They look really similar.

would you mind telling me how many more inches the ram bar sits above the antenna?

Funny you ask Caliche....

I think it all but disappeared but the highway noise was so bad when I dropped it off this morning that it's hard to tell. I think it's gone after the truck warmed up.

I believe that is very good news my friend. How do you like the driving experience?
