I have a crack in my 2023 ram TRX. I made an appointment with safelite to replace the glass. I’ve seen people say that there is a difference with the safety features of the OEM glass vs the aftermarket glass. Is it worth is to pay the 2 grand that insurance does not cover for OEM glass or should I be alright getting the aftermarket glass?

I think you will need OEM if you have adaptive cruise, auto high beams, emergency braking, etc., I had a cracked windshield and had to go OEM because of those features, at least this is what I was told.
Yes I have all those features and use them all, ok looks like I might have to bite the bullet here on get the OEM glass. The insurance company said they didn’t cover it because there had been no reported problems with the after market glass, but still I don’t know if I should take any chances.
Do you have any recourse through insurance if they instal the new one and the systems do not work?

Hi everyone, can anyone recommend where to buy an OEM windshield with shipping available? I've heard that using non-OEM glass can cause sensor malfunctions or calibration issues. Thanks in advance!

. maybe some folks have had issues, but I had a cracked windshield replaced with aftermarket glass from Safelite. got the windshield re-tinted to 35%. I can add the name of the glass they used later if interested.
Safelite calibrated and I have had ZERO issues and this was about over a year ago. I have ACC and the rain sensors and all. I went down the same rabbit hole on what glass to get. sure disclaimer "mileage may vary" as maybe I'm a one off.
