more out of curiosity who has run methanol on their TRX?

Living in south Florida I opted against doing a IC with condensation issues (I know there are ways to help mitigate the condensation but it’s my DD).

I ran straight M1 port injection on my built M5 and was thinking it could be a good way of lowering AIT.

I’m running flex tune with Dusterhoff. Would there be another controller to run the meth?

You’d have to tune for it. Methanol is fuel, so you cut gasoline and replace it with meth in the tune. That’s great until the methanol pump dies and you go lean and squeak your motor. There is the reason almost nobody runs it.

Ah sorry, should have clarified. Was thinking similar setup to what I had with my JB4 and anytime 80% throttle plus would start meth flow to decrease AIT.

Asking more out of curiosity than anything.

I’m already running E85 on the truck.

I asked Dusterhoff about doing this very thing with a little spray to cool the temps and he did not recommend it.

I have no personal experience with it, but I know Snow Performance makes a kit for the TRX.

If I recall correctly, you're using a 108mm throttle body, which would complicate the kit a bit since it uses a TB spacer plate for the water/meth injection. It utilizes a 52mm Gauge controller that employs a boost reference to determine the amount of spray required.

If you’re already on e85 I wouldn’t expect much hp gain from running meth. On the downside, when the pump fails there aren’t any failsafes that I know of on the hellcat platform that you can bake into the tune to save the motor from going lean. I would actually consider a small shot of nitrous safer.

Makes sense. Was only asking to lower AIT, not specifically add fuel.

I know when I ran it before TC should be 100% off to avoid cutting off the TB closing. Mainly was thinking intake temps on call as a alternative option.

Guess I’m too used to turbo cars.

The e85 is already burning colder and helping your cylinder temps. The methanol will help with the latent heat of vaporization to reduce IAT temps a smidge but will also displace a certain volume of air in the process. Likely still a net positive but I’m not sure enough to be worth it at our boost levels. If you were running 30 PSI then the balance would be different.
