We started this adventure looking for a power wagon.

I have a prerunner that even though it’s 200 or so hp low on power, will smoke a trx out on the trail.

But it’s small and sucks for ghost town trips with the family.

We can across the granger deal essentially by accident and since the trx had the larger rear seat (larger cab) and the price was just a couple grand more… we placed an order.

My wife is asking if we didn’t screw up, and if we should have taken the slower power wagon because we would have it by now….

I’m trying to get her to keep the faith and hold on until the first week of December before we make any changes.

I’m a medical time bomb that is using a scrambler instead of a timer… so there is some thing to a time crunch. That’s a long story and part of why we are making a bad financial decision of buying an expensive toy. (She gets my pension for the rest of her life so the money won’t change when I’m pushing daisies)

The PW and trx are two different trucks, but really only when your maximizing their specific uses.

If your not doing anything crazy, a trx will go where a power wagon will go and a power wagon will be just as big and unruly as a trx.

Both will hold a wife and two kids, carry a bed rack with a rtt and all the crap we can shove in the bed for ghost town exploring and camping…

Any of the dealers on here know if the power wagons are having the same build issues?

Come December 5, If the missis demands it, i may see if granger will put the deposit toward a pw…

Honestly I think most orders are a 4 month minimum. I see in your signature you ordered on September 20th. At best I’d guess you’d see the truck by late December, but realistically you’re more likely to see the truck next year sometime in January.

@04Ram2500Hemi was that a pep talk? Because if so, you need to go back to pep talk school.

@Fifty - the wait is painful, but I promise the TRX is more fun than a power wagon. If you want a solid work truck get a PW, but it sounds to me that you want one last hooray so do yourself a favor by sticking with the TRX.

Not worth the wait imo. Buy at MSRP and be done. The time you spend here refreshing, looking for answers, is a waste. Call around, find one at MSRP and enjoy life.

Pep Talks are not my strong point…

Honestly, if I was the OP I’d look for a truck at MSRP with the options that are important to him and the family.

Yea. At first we figured about 6-8 weeks. And the financing through usaa made it an easy deal.
We had to extend the financing once already since granger won’t take the money. Usaa said they would issue the check since a vin and signature are there.

Inthink the false start really pissed the wife off since we almost made flight arrangements etc… and got the expectation higher…
At first I was secretly hoping it would take until mid dec just so I had more funds for toys and a larger savings account to offset the loan (I’m a money stress person lol)

But after the false start and the randomness of builds and seeing dealers getting lot assignments in mass faster than ordered trucks… and then the family friend who is a celebrity get notified of what week the truck will be built (and it happen that week) and all
The stuff they did for him… but we are told these courtesies don’t exist by ram or by our dealer…

She just wants any truck and go play.

She is trying to find a good place to stay in arizona in may for the overland expo. Even though it’s an overland expo she wants to do something luxurious for me.

Fuck… my medical issue must be worse than I thought. Lolz.

Fifty, your not even sixty days in yet. Give it some time. I ordered a month before you and agree the wait sucks especially when you see November orders going before us. I orders in August and it seems longer but when I ordered it I wasn’t expecting to see it until Dec or Jan. But seeing how they build them in any order just makes the wait worse. Hang in there!

Yea. I swear it was the false start that made the patience disappear.

Now everytime I see the vins being made and the dealers out here getting lot assignments with higher vins… it just makes me not believe that their is no rhyme or reason.

I took my TRX to the trails in Ouray CO and in all vehicles I've off roaded (countless), the TRX was the funnest and most comfortable ride. Just have to pick your time on narrow trails with traffic. Either the PW or TRX is a good choice, but the TRX will put an eternal smile on your face. Maybe get a used one now?

Had a (Whipple supercharged) 2014 Raptor then a 2017. TRD Pro 4Runner for wife's daily and Sunday off-road trails/exploring. Bought a Cummins 2500 to replace Raptor (90k of hard use/tired) as a beast/tow rig with Carli suspension/37' aspirations. PW was considered. Long story short...emotionally as well as logically really missed higher speeds off/on road and always that 'Whipple' wine at WFO and all the antics that ensued. Don't mind paying a lot or waiting a long time, but not both... thus Granger was the logical route (order in 10/28 #216103. As TedRex noted "eternal smile on your face'... :) and one day will telling mystical campfire stories about 702hp and 11mpg among Grandkids numbed by EV autonomy.
