2 months ago, I took my truck to a dealership to investigate the popular active dampening code. They found a communication error between the engine and transmission. Updated the trans, the trans error was gone.
Since then it takes almost 2 minutes for the idle to drop below 1k RPM upon a cold start (no matter the outside temperature). Always was about 30 seconds.
Whatever they did also took off the soft limiter in the park. When presenting SLP Loudmouths to a friend, I was suddenly able to rev it to 6.5k. It's always been limited to 4.5k.
This all sounds like their "fix" induced a kind of communication error between the engine and trans. Not the other way around.
Upon a call, their manager told me that he has no idea what happened. They will ask "somebody" and call one day.
I visited them to fix that damn active dampening code, avoid offroad aggressive maneveurs. They didn't fix a shit and apparently messed up something.
- How long in your truck does it take for the idle to stabilize below 1k RPM after a cold start? (hot temp outside vs cold).
Any insight appreciated.
