I've had an adaptive cruise control button in my toolbox for a while, so I decided to install it over the holiday. I coded it with AlphaOBD but it didn't fully take. I've searched a bit and can't find a post that solves my issue. I was hoping someone with more AlphaOBD experience may have some tips.

The ACC works, but doesn't brake. It'll match the speed of the car ahead, but when they brake, my truck doesn't. There aren't any persistent error lights displayed, but it seemly randomly throws an ACC error (the cruise control icon with a car and exclamation point). I think the coding might not have fully taken.

I first coded it with the ignition in RUN and the engine off. I set the cruise control parameter to "off" and then immediately set the ACC to "ACC with stop and go." ACC worked, but didn't brake. Based on some posts that suggested it make require a few start/stop cycles to take, I lived with it for a few days. It didn't resolve. It later threw the ACC error a few times while on a longer drive - once when the ACC was on and someone cut me off in a manner that the ACC would likely have braked hard, once when normal cruise was on, and once when neither cruise was on. Each time the code disappears when I shut off and restart the truck.

To resolve things, I've tried setting "ACC not present," leaving the truck closed up and locked for ~30 mins, and then setting it back to "ACC with stop and go." I've tried twice, once with the ignition in the OFF position and once with the ignition in the accessory position. The ACC works, but again doesn't brake. I've not experienced the ACC error, but may not have driven enough.

I've not tried pulling the battery cable or resetting the ECU via AlphaOBD. I'm a bit hesitant to pull the battery cable, as my battery died a while back and it required a suspension calibration. I'm uncomfortable with the full scale "reset," when I've only changed two parameters (it's a control thing - I don't trust it if I don't know exactly what it's doing and that I can set it right if things go awry).

Anyone had a similar issue? Regardless, thoughts on what else I should try?

Thanks. If I figure it out, I'll let everyone know.
