A few weeks ago, I hauled my Super Stock with my TRX to Woodburn, Oregon for the 38th Annual Mopar Nationals. The combo got a lot of attention from everyone there but I was there for one reason and that was to run my Super Stock in both Modern Mopar and Pro class. Since this post is about the NHRA Northwest Nationals and not the Mopar Nats, I'll get right to it and say that I got 2nd place in Pro and made it to the semi-finals in Modern Mopar.
A week after getting back from Mopar Nats, I got a call from the track manager of Pacific Raceways, host of the NHRA Northwest Nationals asking me if I would bring both the TRX and Super Stock to this race to run in an exhibition. As busy as I was, I couldn't pass up this once in a lifetime opportunity and so I said yes!
Since I obviously couldn't drive both at the same time, I asked my friend Brian who happens to be a great drag racer to come along and run the TRX. Before you say anything about the reaction times, since both vehicles are mine and I know the Super Stock on average is 7 tenths quicker, we agreed to give Brian in the TRX the hit. No excuses for the shitty reaction times on the 2nd pass....
The fans and track announcer absolutely loved the TRX and it got all the attention at this event. If there's ever a next time, I will be sure to drive the TRX instead.... lol
Last but not least, to all our customers that were waiting for me to respond to them, my apologies for not getting back to you right away. Poor planning on my part for who from our team was to monitor my emails.
