Magnaflow XMOD Vs. AWE 0FG Vs. Stock exhaust

These exhaust are so expensive lol. 200 bucks for SLP loud mouth resonators...... I still feel like a winner. I can use the 2k saved for headers and drop-in filter. Don't get me wrong, the setups with the x-pipe replaced with an h-pipe or y-pipe might sound a hair deeper and if I hear one of those set ups in person and like it more, I can get a 3 inch h-pipe and have a shop put it in for 200 bucks.

Ram nailed it with a 3 inch from the factory exhaust. So ready for headers. Will wash out just about any sound gains the exhaust could possibly give.
Yep what this guy said have same mufflers was 189$ for both new on eBay 🤷🏻‍♂️

I ordered the AWE system the day it was released and probably one of the first ones from @Johnny@JustBoltOns. Did I want to spend 2k on a exhaust? No, but I did. It was an impulse buy as Johnny told me he one available for immediate shipping. I had him cancel my cutout order that was already placed. Now I’m new to this whole hellcat scene and have only had mustangs in the past and honestly never heard of AWE so was alittle skeptical after the hit the “pay now” button”.

My systems arrived in two separate boxes with more packaging then I thought it needed (I probably could’ve shipped my 4 year old cross country in that box of it had air holes (This is a joke) it it was well packaged. When I got to the shop I couldn’t wait to get the system on. My
Mechainc installed it and he’s built some pretty serious race cars in his days. He said the quality and fit were excellent. I saw it up on the left and from what I saw it all looked really good too (but what does my option matter I know nothing about raw materials, I’m just a blue collar worker).

Once we stated the truck I loved it and felt, to me, it was worth 2k. Of course at the end of the install we realized 2 of the 4 exhaust hanger clamps (the small ones that hold the tips in place ) were missing, no big deal. I immediately messaged Dave at AWE on here (not letting me tag him) about my two missing parts. He answered extremely quickly, apologized even though it wasn’t his fault, got me in touch with the guy who ships out parts and they shipped it out next day. Everyone I came in contact was extremely apologetic and super nice and helpful. Now that I’ve purchased a product from AWE and I see their quality and customer service I would most definitely buy from them again. I’m in NJ so might even stop by the shop one day. I love the exhaust sound, little to no drone at cruising speeds, sounds sick at start up and when you hit it.

Johnny at justboltons and Dave and mike from AWE have been awesome to deal with. I’ve bought other stuff from Johnny and had to return it and he’s helped out right away. These are two companies I’d continue to do business with because of their customer service and quality products.

Well...due to a circus of events, I have had the stock, AWE and Magnaflow on my truck....

Thought I would post up some observations for those contemplating exhaust changes....

Stock.....You know....pretty damn good...a little drone at 1900 rpms....quiet in the cab...some bark...downside is it's a bit tame...

AWE....Stainless...very little drone...a tad at 1700ish....quiet in cab....can be stealthy if you want to cruise into a neighborhood....can be wild if you get on it...downside is it is raspy at WOT...

Magnaflow set up at middle level of bark...Stainless....very little drone...a bit at 1700...quiet in cab....comes with 3 set ups for preference...deep tone...mean as hell at WOT...no rasp....Downside $$$$....

$....keep stock
$$....modify stock with better resonators...deal with lack of deep tone
$$$....AWE....get some bark...deal with rasp
$$$$...Maganflow.....best sound....deal with you just spent 3k on pipes
I currently have the AWE system in my truck. Before that i did what 90% of the mopar community did, i mid muffler deleted that bitch... worst mod you could do on a TRX
the drone is the cabin is unbearable at any speed.
I must admit at first i was a little disappointed that the AWE system didn't sound as mean as my challenger hellcat. I drove to work the next day with full intention in remove the H pipe so it would sound louder. I first decided to let my coworker rev it while i stand at the rear ( wtf, wtf, wft, wtf, wtf, wtf ) i am not touching anything.... somehow they figured out how to make the system even quieter in the cabin but wake up the entire neighborhood once you get on it...

I toO can attest to the excellent level of customer service.

Jonny---very well put. Mine came the same way. I am familiar with metals and finishes being in military aerospace. This exhaust system in short looks like it was made to put on the outside of the truck. Yes I looked at the welding, finish on the system even the flanges and was impressed. Love the sound and I went with the chrome tips even picked up a little HP about 1% -- :) . The lack of drone is very much appreciated as I spend 10 hours at a time and more driving this truck on the highway. Get behind it and it is Very noticeable over stock in tone and sound volume. We had them side by side yesterday at lunch and got behind them and fired them up with the remote start!

Once I got some miles through the exhaust it seemed to get slightly louder

I really appreciate the feedback and I side right with you. AWE's Quality, Customer Service and Hands-On with handling any hiccups goes above and beyond anything we are use to and that is one of the reasons we love to sell AWE Products.

Started seeing & hearing very positive stuff about AWE over a dozen years ago because of their exhausts for the Porsche Turbo, great sounding system.

Bought my AWE from Johnny at Just Bolt ons, always great to deal with.

Great customer service at AWE too (John V. & Michael S.) AWE is installing my exhaust July 8th.

So clarify for me…

AWE….
magnaflow…

both are quieter in the cabin? I’m coming from a gen 2 raptor where I pulled off every aftermarket exhaust I ever bought due to the buzzy exhaust tone. I hated driving at 75 on cruise and hearing the exhaust buzzing behind me. Is that an issue on these cat backs? I had drone free exhausts… I had borla, I had corsa. I had Ford Performance. But the buzzing behind me on the highway was terrible.

That doesn't sound like an exhaust problem as much as a cylinder 7 and 8 problem lol. Might I recommend a trombone?

The stock TRX exhaust is really good honestly from the factory. I think the message from the AWE and Magnaflow guys is that its quieter under regular driving with the resonator set up but louder when you get on it. Deeper tone all the way around.

I have a window sticker and no truck anyway. I’ll be patient and see what Corsa and Borla produce too and then explore them all.

Is the AWE exhaust modular like
On the raptor?

That is because the Gen 2 Raptor has a very obnoxious sound due to the ringy dingy motor that is used. No matter who makes the exhaust system it sounds obnoxious.

I'm a little behind in chiming in here, but I have the Magnaflow system as well and I LOVE it.

I run the "street' setup with the NDT chambers daily and have roughly 5,000 miles with the system so far. The cold start gives me goosebumps and makes me giggle EVERY SINGLE TIME. It's an aggressive growl around town and sounds like it will rip your face off when you unleash the 700. Perfectly fitting for this truck.

When I tow my travel trailer I swap on the "stealth" mufflers for a less aggressive sound. The easy swap takes 15 minutes tops. The "stealth" muffler system is better than stock, but still neighbor friendly if you're concerned about that sort of thing.

Haven't felt the need to try the straight pipes yet, but will probably swap them on when I do a desert run sometime.

You don’t have a truck yet?

I posted YOUR obnoxious tailpipe noise on an earlier post above. It is fucken sick! 😉

I do not think that would be a good idea especially in Kali! SD used to be my favorite place in the US to go (also have friends there) but you put that on your TRX it just may get damaged by a environmental whack job which they exist in mass there. Something to think about....

I hear ya. I thought about that, but if I don’t put it on there because I am scared that some Greta-looking mf’er is going to key my truck then they kind of win and I am not about to let that happen :)
