Started the detail process prior to applying ceramic coating. Decon wash, iron remover, clay mitt, surface prep and polish using flex DA polishers with Sonax perfect finish. The factory paint is pretty good. I made sure the dealers detail dept came nowhere near it.

Looks absolutely insane. I bet 90% of pro detailers don't get it that perfect. Well done. Can't wait to see the finished product after the coating.

All done and coated. I’ll take some pics when the sun is up. I used Adams Graphene ceramic coating. That stuff is legit

Looks good. Take some closeup, direct sunlight pics when you get a chance - that really shows what ya got.

My black paint is in horrible condition straight from factory, light scratches and rids to swirls - top to bottom and front to back. No major marring except one spot. Dealership did not clean the truck.

I’m starting my paint correction and ceramic this week. My truck came by rail, so will decontaminate with iron remover then clay bar. I’ve got both 3D one and Sonax perfect finish - will do a test panel to see if sonax alone will be enough. Topping with Carbon Force ceramic from chemical guys.

Morning sun. She came out pretty good. There’s already pollen collecting on her.

Americana Global 5” medium cut orange pads on a flex forced rotation polisher. I tested out the fender first and was happy Sonax perfect finish alone did the job nicely. I did some smaller / hard to reach areas that the full size polisher couldn’t reach with my smaller Flex polisher

She turned out beautiful! I'd love to get another black truck but they get so dirty so quick.

Just backing it out... pollen started to collect all over it 😂 They look good once they’re freshly washed. I’ve always loved black. My SRT-10 was black, as was my 2003 Cobra.

I noticed there was all sorts of marring on the doors (from the factory or transport) all of it polished out easily. I coated it to make maintenance washes way easier and to keep the gloss. That Adams graphene ceramic is nice stuff and easy to work with.

I bought adams graphene detail spray to use just to freshen it up, when slightly dirty, dusty or pollen. just use a little bit, it really goes on easy, buffs off clear and makes is like a mirror.

If your going to leave it outside and not stay on top of keeping it clean then a good professional level ceramic system would be ideal, but costly.

Mine is garage kept and a weekend vehicle...so keeping it clean won’t be a problem

if you put the time and effort into the prep work, you can get professional results at home too! The expense to get it done by an expert shop doesn’t come from the coating itself. It’s all the labor that goes into the prep

Yup saved myself probably $1200 doing it myself. You just need time, attention to detail and some know how... plus the right equipment.

Hey Rob, what would you use to coat Xpel stealth? Thanks.
