What you guys using to haul the MTB's?

And some obligatory bike porn since we're all in one spot here! What's everyone riding?

Nice!
Rode the Ripmo and the Switchblade. Ended up getting a killer deal on a Trail 429 That fits 90 percent of my riding. All great bikes

Trail 429 is awesome - nice work!

Loaded up for our summer pilgrimage to ride Silver Star & Sunpeaks in BC Canada. Rack is a Saris Modular tray system for 4 bikes. Holds the bike by the tires and no rubbing or scratching in transit.

Very easy to load & unload bikes. Tilting up and down is relatively easy, but adding / removing is a workout.

Thought it was wild the truck recognized the rack as a trailer and adjusted the blind spot detection hehe.

I built my own out of PVC, cost maybe 30 bucks all in. Just measure it to fit in the bed and whatever tire width you ride. Took half an afternoon and some rattle can paint. And once you get wherever you're going, just put it in the ground and it's your bike rack. Lots of free plans online. https://www.instructables.com/Truckbed-Bike-Rack/

Just ordered a Trek Dual Sport 3 Gen 5 in Hex Blue (matches the truck a bit, lol) yesterday. I haven't ridden a bike since I was a kid and after testing a bunch out, I think this option was the best overall for what I'll do with a bike. Already have some modifications coming for it, lol. Should have the bike in at the Trek store and setup for me in 2-3 weeks.

So we'll have up to 5 bikes going out to some fairly local paved and easy dirt/gravel trails. I ordered this last night and am going to give it a shot first. It is on sale for $116 shipped for the full size and I figured I'd try this out before spending a few grand on a 5 bike rack setup for the Retrax tonneau cover I have. I'll still use some tie downs on the rear wheels of the bikes, just because.

Welcome back to the fold. After years working in bike shops and racing, my best piece of advice to help a new, returning rider stick with it is that bikes aren't uncomfortable. If you're uncomfortable, it's not set up right and/or you're on a crappy saddle that doesn't fit you. If, after you get accustomed to riding and maybe build up to 10-15 miles at a time, you have any pain while riding, go back to your shop and work with them to get the fit right. A good bike fitter can make a huge difference in how enjoyable your riding is.

Thanks for the advice! This is the local Trek shop and the guy that helped me was great.

I just take off the front tires off and lay them in the bed under the bedcover.

Got the Latchit rack. It feels somewhat homebrew, but is very well engineered and executed. if that makes sense. Overall I like it alot. I will be testing it next week. It fits 6 bikes but because it pushes the pedals outside of the wider pickup box and into the narrower tailgate zone, 5 is more comfortable.

That's awesome! Keep me posted on how the full test goes. 👍

Wild setup! Looking forward to hearing how this works.
