Here’s the secret sauce for mounting a 37" tire under the bed!

Blaster9 is in Florida. There's no such thing as cool air there.
Hahaha good point. Maybe the humid air will help keep the tire from drying out :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Tires are supposed to be stored cool and dry. The exact opposite of his situation.

And if the heat and humidity doesn't send them to an early grave, some alligator might bite a hole in them.

Yea I’ll just do some basic heat wrap on the exhaust. That’ll be enough to keep the tire in check

Fully warmed up truck idling in 95 deg heat. Might be worried if i was redlining in bumper to bumper - otherwise not worried even a little. Airflow/mud/water will dissipate anything when im really on it

The thought of adding more unsprung weight to an already heavy ass truck just gives me the shivers not to mention a heavier spare 🤢 LOL

Dont even notice it. Keep in mind if you put an OEM 35” beadlock there , my spare setup is only about 5-7lbs heavier.

That's 5-7 lbs. extra unsprung and rotating mass per corner, which is a performance killer by itself, not even counting the added loaded radius.

I cherish every pound I can get rid of with lighter tires and wheels, and that's staying with the same diameter.

Only referring to the spare - difference is negligible. There is definitely a difference felt in braking (and a bit of a hit in acceleration). But def braking is not as good from hi speed esp. when off road.

I'm in the opposite boat as you. I've got 3 car seats in the back and about 500lbs of tools/gear/etc in the trunk. Could careless about shaving weight. I want everything + the kitchen sink in my truck. If i get stuck, I've got a winch, traction boards, tow strap, tire grabbers, dead-man, d-rings, soft shackles, snatch block, etc. If there's a trail I need to trim, i've got 3 machetes, hatchets, elec chainsaw/etc (just used all these things last wknd as we were stuck in an atv trail lol)

And if you do a lot of off-roading (my guess is no), you'll never believe the difference in ride btwn stock 35s and 37s. Plus i've got extra clearance which is huge for bombing through the trails. Cant tell you how many LESS times I wack my front bash plate on a sudden wash-out now that Ive got the extra clearance.

Anyways, this thread isnt to debate the pros/cons of 37s. Just to let ppl know it's possible to mount a spare 37 should they go that route.

I'm not opposed to adding sprung weight as needed, and have some "rescue stuff" on board. It's the unsprung and rotating mass I'm concerned with.

And no, while I still have a couple of Jeeps, I don't go rock crawling much anymore. Partially because I tend to get vehicles stuck somewhat frequently right here at home. Including those with 40-inch tires.

Finally got around to removing the plastic shroud at the spare and stuffed in an aired up 37”. It all fit, and was only 7 10mm bolts to remove the shroud. Plenty of space between the exhaust, questionable space between the trackbar. 😂 Did some flex and compression testing and couldn’t get it to rub though! Gonna run it and listen for funkiness!

We already know it works with a stock bumper. we need to know if it works with an ADD...LOL....

BTW, my shop said the track bar will never hit unless I break something else first.

I’m installing a front ADD bumper in a day or two, but opted out of the rear, but now I’m kind of curious.

Can't you just buy the ADD, test it out and return it for us? Come on @Nick797 help the guy out for a couple of days 🤣

Yes, can't you just do that?

I don't want an ADD rear bumper but I need a bumper and my shop guy said he wouldn't spend the money on repairing mine, he would just get an aftermarket.
