T-Rex = carnivore....How about TRX owners?

The smoker has helped me through my diet a ton. So many bad eating habits are related to social activities for me, smoking meats for family and friends has filled that gap with a less bad option, with a little bourbon… View attachment 88974
Said bourbon… 😂

I eat lots of lean, rare beef...about 3 pounds a week! I also eat lots of eggs, drink lots of milk and OJ, do eat a good selection of veggies and fruit, feel great and work out 5-6 days a week. Will quit eating meat when Hell freezes over...OK, not even then! :)

3 pounds a week? Those are rookie numbers. Gotta get those up

Thanks to RedEyeTRX for starting the topic. In a healthy body there will be a healthy mind. I put my body through some hell at work between lobstering, scalloping, oystering, and whatever other ocean money makings come my way. Carbs have always been my primary fuel, but after doing a bit of research on what helps body fight inflammation (carpal tunnel, unreal tendinitis and shit), I learned that a combo of keto and carnivore is what will help me not go get the carpal tunnel surgery and have me last in my job a lot longer. No more numbness in hands while riding my motorcycle and no waking up in the middle of the night with burning hands. Too bad modern physicians get only a week or two studying nutrition. They know nothing what functional physicians do. Nothing about herbs, spices, research on fighting aging, just a bunch of blind mice that can write a painkiller prescription. How many people I know have got from pain killers to hard drugs even arent with us anymore because of that. Thanks, doctor. We are what we eat, right? To make a long story short, we sure are what we fuel our body with. turns out plants sit well with only a fraction of general population. Bring on the fatty BBQ! 🍻

I heard that lean is not as good as fatty cuts. Our brain is 60% fat! it’s been proven, that fatty acids are among the most crucial molecules that determine the brain's integrity and ability to perform. Here is a short abstract from bbc.com on so called rabbit starvation :”Arctic explorer Vilhjalmur Stefansson wrote about a phenomenon among the peoples of northern Canada called rabbit starvation, in which those who eat only very lean meat, such as rabbit, “develop diarrhea in about a week, with headache, lassitude, a vague discomfort.” To avoid death from malnutrition, rabbit starvation sufferers must consume some fat, he writes. Jon Krakauer, in his book Into the Wild, suggests at first that ill-fated free spirit Chris McCandless died from rabbit starvation. It's thought that getting almost all one's calories from protein, and almost none from fat or carbohydrates, may overwhelm the liver's ability to process protein.”

What you say does have some merit, however even lean cuts of beef have some fat and I eat at least 4 eggs a day plus other dairy products. I love beef but do eat a well balanced diet and take a good selection of natural supplements.

To be fair and honest however, if one is really concerned about health/diet (especially for those over 30) and taking supplements, it is wise to have blood work done a couple times a year and adjust diet and supplementation as necessary. Each of us is different and react to foods and supplements very differently!

I eat a lot of sirloin which is on the leaner side but still getting fats from other cuts like this New York I made for Valentine’s Day.

I eat meat and fish, eggs, cheese, milk, tons of veggies and fruits. I leave most of the carbs to cheat on Saturdays.
I'm 38 and figured out the carbs were hurting me a lot early 30s.

Whatever works for you I just can't stand vegetarians. Especially the ones with iphones and driving Teslas.

To each their own. Get a full panel and see what your deficiencies are. It will tell you everything you need to know. I roll with red meat dairy minimal carbs fruit and gram of protein per lb of body weight daily. And do compound weight training as heavy as a s.o.b. sprinkled with h.i.i.t

change the thread to "how to get your cholesterol high!" Red meat stays in your system longer than fish or chicken. Of course, there are some of you gifted with lucky genetics but majority of you should watch out :)
Okay yeah, its a paradigm shift and its dismissing everything we have been taught about red meat and fats. But a lie repeated over and over, is still a lie. Both my wife and I got a clean bill of health on our last LDL and HDL tests and our overall blood tests looked amazing. Its not luck or genetics. When people on strict keto - carnivore lifestyle drop 50-100 pounds in a year, feel great and drop their A1C from 10 (diabetic) to under 5 (non diabetic), you have to take notice.

If you look up the "research" on fats / heart disease, you will find there is no hard data to support the "fat and cholesterol" CAUSE heart disease or cancer. When the "studies" are conducted, the test subjects have been consuming the standard "American" diet, of high sugar / carbs, some meat, live a sedentary lifestyle, etc. How did the research separate the effects of meats vs carbs? In other words the studies are meaningless. The studies also say "points to" and they show zero hard data to support actual causation. Consensus and expert opinion are the lowest form of scientific proof. Also, think about who pays for the "studies" and who stands to gain from those studies.

Humans need fats in our diets and our brains are primarily composed of fats. Our brains function very well on ketones and does not require sugar or carbs.

The massive amounts of sugar used to replace the fats in foods is the real cause of heart / artery disease and massive issues of diabetes / obesity. And the 800 pound gorilla in the room ... sugar is as addictive as heroine and fires off the same pleasure centers (dopamine) in your brain. Why is sugar an ingredient in salami or other deli meats? Because the manufacturers know how much we love our dopamine "hit".

If the "saturated fats are bad" mantra is correct, why have heart / artery disease skyrocketed as people consume less fats, while they consume more high carb foods labeled "Fat Free Food"? Walk through the grocery store and 90% of the aisles are full of carbs and sugars (carbs turn to sugar in your system). Aisles and aisles of chips, cookies, pies, rice, cakes, soda pop, all pushed by Quaker, Post, Kellogg's, Coke, Pepsi, and other sugar / carb food manufacturers. Then look at the high number of obese people at the grocery store, then look at what is in their carts! Its not steak and ground beef........

The Standard American Diet has also fueled the current state of the drug industry. Where doctors no longer tell patients to take charge of their own health (weight loss, exercise and proper human diet)......but instead they have become drug company bitches......where every drug company has a "pill for this" and a "pill for that".

Thanks for chiming in!
Yeah, the reduction in joint pain and inflammation has been just short of amazing. Who knew all the sugar / carbs were so addictive and such an inflammatory agent, and how much better our brains work on ketones? Congrats on your pain reduction and success!

Most doctors today = drug company bitches

Cool you figured it out early, only took me 54 years! (friggin Mt Dew)
Ever notice vegetarians talk tough on the internet........but in person you could knock them over with a feather ! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Right there with ya! No veggies here either, too many oxalates.
It took me a while to wrap my brain around the concept of all red meat and no veggies, because the "benefits" of veggies has been pounded into us our entire lives. Never looking back !
Very true, ever seen a skinny cow?

Great topic. I suffer from really bad arthritis so this diet has always grabbed my attention. First heard about it from Dr. Saladino on Rogan last year. I just couldn't commit 100% mainly because my wife won't do it and it effects our meals. Me being the chef in the family, making two separate meals is a pain with our busy lives. I also found I couldn't eat enough throughout the day so I felt weak. I recommitted last month as I know it's the only way I'm going to feel better and stay of my arthritis meds. After about 4-5 weeks I've tripped up a few times but am going to do my best to push through. One key takeaway is eliminating seed oils, they are devil.

I couldn’t agree more with you! 👍👍👍 you really know what’s up!
Now if we could bring the knowledge into every school and get the dominos/soda machines and whatever other fast food is being served in the cafeterias to our kids out of there, would be a great step toward a healthier future generation. Instead everyone is concerned about transgender bathroom issues and shit. Come on, what is happening to the youth? blows my mind😡🤬🤯🤯🤯

Seed oils ARE the devil!!!!! I dont usually follow Paul Saladino MD, due to his current push for a diet high in fruit and honey. Fruits = sugar and honey = sugar ..... and the fruits available today are NOT the fruits from 100-200-1000-10,000 years ago. Today our fruits have been bred to be as sweet as candy. I believe he is gearing up to sell a "new" fruit / honey based diet or supplement. But that is just me guessing. I like the docs who mainly sell their time and info, not the ones selling products.

I was in the exact reverse situation as you, my wife was going 100% carnivore due to her health issues and I was the one giving her push back. I would say, "Well that works for you, but I know what works for me" all the while my A1C was high and my inflammation was off the scale and I was 35-40# overweight. I was working out and doing cardio, but could not loose the extra weight.

Slowly I started watching videos from Ken Berry MD and others.....and it all started to make sense. All of my push back was my addition to sugar talking. Listening to the Q&A sessions is a huge eye opener, people all over the world having HUGE successes with no / low carb - high meat / high fat diets. When my weight started to drop and I was increasing my weight on curls, bench, etc. and gaining size AND I was experiencing great steady energy all day long...I WAS SOLD !!!!!!!!!!!

My recommendation is to make the strict change for 90 days and show your wife how well you are doing.....in time she will follow your lead! Make meat for both of you and make the potato / gravy and green beans for her. Cheers!

looks like I found my support group here. I cannot go full carnivore but will cut out all carbs. The "boss lady" is a physician, so I get the daily lecture...on what i "need" to eat...but like we all know.....Everything goes with Bacon. Now that I am older....I choose high quality bacon :)
Ask your wife to show you the studies showing specific causation between cardiovascular disease and red meat. And exactly how scientists performing the studies were able to exclude the effects of sugars and carbs vs the effects of meats and fats, considering the people in the study consumed the "standard American diet" of high carbs, high sugar, low fat / very little red meat and sedentary lifestyle. Expert opinions and consensus excluded.

You might be spending some time on the couch, but you will get your point across !

interesting post this morning on processed vs unprocessed. The carnivore diet is wonderful in itself but the processed vs unprocessed discussion would be more realistic for the masses.

Processed food is stuffed full of artificial sweeteners, stabilizers, and things we can’t pronounce. If we just ate whole foods without additives, this discussion would like not be required and would be more of a preference.

Losing weight is very simple.....burn more calories than you consume....every day....only eat when you absolutely have to....once you get to the desired weight eat what you burn.....

All these "diets" are nonsense....

Not everyone who is skinny is healthy. I think eating for health is more than just calories in, calories out, don’t you think?
