Xpel Stealth Questions…

Just picked mine up and couldn’t be happier. He has some more to do but I wanted to take it on a trip early tomorrow morning. I went to a lot of wrap places and I have to say this guys did the best when I visited it and the results showed to me the person performing it makes all the difference in the world

I have. I need to get some pics up. Thanks for the push! Will get them asap. I think it looks awesome imho. I also had them do the equivalent of the hood graphic but without the trx cutout. I also did the roof in satin black.
Chris
Can’t wait to see pics!

When installing any PPF, do the graphics need to come off as well, or can they wrap right over those?
They don't have to come off but they will possibly be altered by the PPF. For example, if you get the satin/matte TRX graphics and you PPF over them, they will become gloss. You will also see a faint outline around the graphics in the ppf from a tiny pocket of air that will surround it.

They 100% do not have to come off. It just depends on what you want it to look like afterwards. You can PPF over any vinyl to protect it but as I said, it alters the appearance to some degree.
HPO is correct… it comes down to how strong your OCD is. This forum tends towards extreme OCD though 🤣

If your gonna see it and regret it, remove them first, probably cheaper than having it Re wrapped up if you don’t like the end result.

We actually did an install for a member on this forum and went over the vinyl decals. Honestly, it doesn't look bad but it just depends on whether or not you want those matte vinyls to stay matte or not.

For those not aware, I own a shop that does XPEL installs all day every day so when I say you don't have to remove them, I mean, you don't HAVE to remove them. :)

I just took delivery of my second TRX in Granite and I’m going to have Xpel in Stealth applied (entire truck). A very reputable shop did my Launch Edition in clear PPF and did a great job but they are saying that with the Stealth I will see the edges of the Stealth in some of the tight spots that they can’t tuck it into…not sure how noticeable it will be.

Has anyone had experience with this? I have searched through the forum and haven’t found anything pertaining to it.

Thanks.

. . .like the previous post stated, if you look close enough you can see the seam, but it’s not as definitive as you would expect.

Love my Xpel matte…

An Xpel PPF shop is telling me that they can order the PPF to go around the edges of the side and hood graphics. Apparently, no need to cover or remove the graphics. Is this guy correct?

I’m not sure about that, they pulled all of mine off and replaced them. I had custom TRX bedside and hood graphics made…they did replace all of my badges with new ones.

Shoot. Wish I didn't add the graphics on my order; seems like a waste of money if they're going to have to come off.

I would definitely NOT recommend to cut around graphics! With ppf, especially stealth, seams are bad (how bad depends on color). The reason to ppf over graphics is protection and that you are good with them and not thinking of replacing/changing them. I have ppf over custom hood graphic for protection (pics coming later today). Yes, there is a "gap" if you will, around the graphic - but as ocd as I am, I prefer protection. Hope this helps.

Sorry for delay in getting pics posted. Been trying to finish up the latest light project. Including a couple of pics. Think it turned out pretty good imho. The stealth is really hard to see in pics. You really don't get the full effect except in person. Like I said, as ocd as I am, I still love the stealth on white. You can see the difference better between the outside pic and inside pic. Can't say enough about getting the best installer. I had my installer do the hood graphic. Didn't want the trx punch out. The graphic is under the ppf. Also debadged.
