Travel trailer help

What would you guys recommend for towing this size trailer? Air bags, weight distribution hitch or both?

A 3/4 ton truck with a diesel.

Jokes aside, bags would be helpful and a WDH is a must. If you have it fully loaded down, you'll be well over the stock recommended towing limit with that trailer.

I'm trying to find the lightest one I can with a king size bed. Are you looking at the dry weight or gross weight when determining tow weight?

I'm trying to not have to buyba diesel, because I want to tow the trailer to Big Bend and have some off-road fun in the TRX.

I was thinking dry weight plus 50 gallons of water (400 lbs), plus all your gear, food, ice, food, generator, etc. You'll likely end up over 8000 lbs.

Gottcha, yeah I'm sure all that crap would add up quick. The generator alone is 250lbs and 40lbs per propane tank.

That’s the squat with a 20ft cargo trailer and equalizer anti-sway weight distribution hitch. I’m carrying an F430, so probably 7k lbs total back there. Didn’t think it would squat this much with a hitch, but just to give you an idea. Air bags may not be a bad idea. Maiden voyage is tomorrow so we’ll see.

Thanks for the reply! I found a trailer that has a gross weight just under 7k pounds. Taking a look at it on Monday.

I ended up buying this trailer and used a Weigh Safe WD Hitch and had no issues. Gross trailer weight was around 6,200lbs plus a few hundred pounds of extra stuff.
