A friend of mine who is a huge speed freak and power hungry when it comes to cars and today he asked me when I think $70k would pick one up and it got me to thinking. I think within a year the market will be flooded and if gas prices stabilize will be huge buying frenzy. With all the dealerships offering $10k off on orders you can get a nice equipped level 2 for mid 80’s. Dealerships are all over the board on pre owned values. A guy by me has a black ‘21 not sure about options but it has 21k miles never off-road always babied as a grocery getter. Dealership told him they are getting 10-20k over msrp “if” they could get their hands on one. He went to go trade his in on a Limited and was offered low 70’s then was told “ there are tons for sell sitting within 300 miles from here”. My how the market changed in 2 weeks.

Granted. Dealers are offering $10K off, but the MSRP bar keeps rising due to material shortage, and especially inflation. The pre-owned market is not that far behind. So until the economy is stabilized, the $70K is not coming anytime soon IMHO.

x for doubt, 2021 with 36k miles or something?
I have a 2021 with 22k with a 88k msrp and and the dealer down the road was willing to give me 88 for it a few weeks ago and that was with very little negotiation. I think once I have 50k on the ood it it will be in the 70s

This is exactly why used prices aren’t dropping! Look what they’re going for at auction…..

Of course the STEALERship told you buddy there are "TONS" of them for sale, that is the dealership game. Question is, did your buddy believe it or did he do his own research and find the true number of TRXs for sale in the area and the prices being asked? Based on auction results, sounds like they were lowballing him.

Never believe what a car salesman says, only what is in writing.

Sooner than you think if Joe Biden remains americas financial advisor, lots of people are walking away from orders, 1300 cars on ground new and used just on cars.com in usa. Thats allot of cars for 90,000 vehicles, it will be like hellcats in the beginning dealers got greedy got stuck and sold at a loss. The economy was way stronger and confident when hellcat launched than it is now. Joe did magic in 16 months

I paid 67k for my ordered base 5 months ago with Granger and waited 9 weeks lol. If you see one for that price, on the lot, pre owned, It will have 50k+ miles with a bad accident history on the carfax lol. There are some with 20k+ miles going well over 80k.

The thing is the $10k discount orders you have to wait as opposed to getting it right now. I waited over 8 months for my order. Don't think you will find any $10k discounted new trucks immediately available.

I wonder if this is the cheapest new TRX ever sold

Trade in? Or the dealer stroking you a check?
Were you just threatening to sell it?
What was your number?

pure curiosity I think 94+ I would have let it go and drove my wifes Subaru till I got a 23

No way man I think they will be worth $500K in the next couple of years, easily, because it has one of 'dem Hellcats in der

Watching the tracker threads, some base TRXs are getting built now as soon as 16 days after order. Now when it actually gets to the dealer, idk. But my point is that if you can really order a base TRX for $70k ($79,675 - $10k discount from Koons/DC/Granger) and get it in 6ish weeks, and they aren't going to sell for as low as $70k anytime soon, then the flip market may not be dead.

I guess I'm glad I ordered so early before the price increases, my lvl 1 window sticker was only 77k
