Hi All,

Just picked up a 2021 TRX that was slightly used with 1,500 miles on it.

Driven it about 500 miles now I have been noticing water” on the drivers side floor mat with an almost oil like viscosity to it.

Any ideas about where it’s coming from?

Also there is a small patch of rust on a bracket under the steering wheel.

Reach out to @Austinmtlhd he had what likely is the same issue you may have. If it is, that’s quite the repair to fix it. It’s probably why someone traded it in.

Is that the repair where basically the whole dash had to come off?

One is passenger side, one is drivers side?

@Austinmtlhd leaked on both sides. Initially it was the passenger side and a few months later the drivers side started to leak and pool water on the mat just like the OP on this thread

Dodge Ram dealers sell these! 😜

Check your plugs on the firewall are properly seeded, I had the same issue and found plug on the upper driver side of the firewall hanging on a wire harness.

Mine was caused by a small piece of foam sticking out of the bulkhead. This little piece of foam wicked the water in and flooded the entire passenger side. They removed the entire dash to replace the AC housing, bulkhead padding, carpet and dash seal kit. I was in the shop for 2 weeks.

Fast forward to after it got out of the shop. I went to vacuum the carpet. When I took the drivers side floormat out it was wet underneath it. Just a little not the amount the passenger side had. Took it back to shop and it sat there for 5 days before they got to it. Of course it was dry by then. I picked it up and the next day it was wet again. Took back to the dealer and asked for the GM. I showed him it was wet so we both agreed it needed to be fixed. This is when FCA sent a tech to look at it. They too could not duplicate the problem. Got TX DMV and FCA together under lemon law claim. I thought I could reproduce the leak by running the AC at full speed with the windows down and sunroof open. It was a very humid morning the day I went to take it in for all parties to look at. When I took it into the dealer to meet DMV/FCA I had condensation coming out the vents and the two cup holders at the back of the center console had condensation in them. But when I took it back to the shop after all that it was completely dry both on top and below the carpet. FCA and I came to an agreement to keep the truck. They would not do a trade for a new truck. I either had to wait another 4-6 months or pay the outrageous demand fee to buy another one.

The big difference I see is yours is on top of the floor mat and mine was under it. Try to see if yours has the piece of foam sticking out of bulkhead like mine was. If so its probably found a path to the drivers side. If not AC there is a TSB for the sunroof leaking on the drivers side.

Hope this helps,
D
