Windshield Replacement in 2023 TRX

Exoshield only midigates the small rock chips. Anything bigger than a dime / nickel (that would normally crack the windshield) will still crack the windshield.
Correct, but even small rocks still penetrate the film and damage your windshield. Every bit of protection helps, but with the limited warranty and the protection packages that they sell on top of the film, I would rather just pay to have a new windshield lol.

Not sure how the glass would vary when all levels (base, 1, and 2) have the same sensors behind the windshield. This is why you can add adaptive cruise control to a base model or non-advanced level 1 or 2 after you take delivery of the truck.

Regardless of what the retail cost is, it all depends on your auto policy/state. Being a Florida resident before moving to Montana, all windshield replacements are free. Now being in Montana, I structured my State Farm policy to be $250 for each windshield replacement—have been thinking about changing it to a zero dollar deductible given how many rock chips I get :(

On a side note, I have tried Exoshield and wasn’t that impressed. Had to have it replaced under the first year due to a warranty issue. Second go around windshield still cracked behind the film. Not worth the money IMO.
Me either, there are 3 different part numbers listed if you pull up the windshield options for a ‘22 TRX though.

Please tell me part number of windshield on mopar website have 3 different models for Trx. Thanks for answer

Anyone replace a windshield in their TRX ? Any issues or concerns to look out for while having it replaced ?

I have an OEM glass on order and it will be replaced at the end of the month

Thanks
I took my truck to Safelite, and they originally put in an OEM windshield, the result was nothing forward facing was working. For example, the rain sensing wipers didn’t work, my forward collision warning didn’t work, my adaptive high beams didn’t work and my adaptive cruise control didn’t work as well.

Went back to Safelite, and they agreed to put in a Ram certified factory windshield, and once that replacement was done, everything works as designed.

Bottom line, the Ram certified windshield is $1300 installed is a must!

Depending upon your insurance and deductible will vary on reimbursement. For me I have a $1000 deductible and anything that’s more than 1000 bucks Is on their dime, it makes a difference in premiums.l

Semi unrelated but a close windshield call today..rolling down a dirt road to the lake house in Maine this am, and what I'd guess was a 3lb bass fell out of sky and landed 20ft in front of me...im like was that a damn fish....yup looked up eagle dropped it...thats a first and assume would have cracked the windshield along with scaring the shit out me...

So far ive had 3 small rocks hit 3 damn chips all filled but the next one it gets a new windshield for sure damn thing is a rock magnet

I got a rock chip yesterday. Had it fixed by Safelite this afternoon. The chip was on the edge of repairable and sure enough the chip is filled but the crack increased from 1” to probably 3.5”. They quoted an OEM replacement at just over $2,000. Will be $600 out of my pocket with insurance.

Anyone have any referrals for the Denver area for a reputable, quality glass shop? I used Safelite in the past for my Raptor but just looking at options at this point.

When replacing the windshield, anything to keep in mind with respect to CompuStar and IGLA? They mentioned a “re-calibration”? IGLA need to be in service mode?

I had a golf ball hit my windshield and had to replace it, I went to Safelite as well and after they finished, we could not get any of my forward-looking stuff like proximity sensors, satellite reception, and a couple of other things because their generic windshield didn’t have all of the stuff needed so they had to take it out and replace it with a new factory windshield and if I’m not mistaken with the factory windshield, it was like two grand so you’re in the ballpark but for sure make sure they get a factory authorized windshield to save you a lot of pain.

I just had my windshield replace with a factory one. My truck is a 2023 TRX level 2 w/ pre-crash w/heads up display Price was $1,735.00 and the part number was 68451039AA

That sounds about right money wise, good call on using a factory replacement!

Been a while but I think $1800 sounds about right. Local shop. Factory glass. HUD and all sensors work like they did before.

Holy crap guys are you seriously paying almost $2k for a new windshield?? I've had several others on other vehicles replaced for free via insurance. Why are we paying out of pocket??!! I've got a blueberry sized rock chip directly in my line of sight and i'm getting to my wits end staring at it lol

The ~$2k is what they would charge my insurance company but with my deductible, I’d be on the hook for $600 out of pocket. All depends on your policy I guess.

It only cost me a $100 deductible, for:
New factory windshield, new factory hood, new factory roof w/ sunroof, new rear window, new 3rd brake light, new factory roof antenna, bunch of other small parts, new paint on most of the truck, etc....
So, not bad at all....

One of the pluses of living in FL, free replacement!!
