Why the TRX

Had a hellcat and loved it but it pretty much tried to kill you every time you touced the pedal. Forget anything other than dry pavement in that car. Considered the Trackhawk but I'm not a fan of the styling of the Grand Cherokee. Now, 702 HP in 4wd truck. Hell yeah.

Why did you order one?

I will use mine as a daily driver in the winter (Pittsburgh) and if I'm going to have a truck (always) I want the baddest thing I can buy!
Appearance definitely. I could do without the Hell Cat engine and save $10K $15K by putting in a 5.7 or 392. Hopefully the TRX will follow suit with other widebody Stellantis vehicles and trickle down the line. I would be happy driving a Ram TR as oppose to a RAM TRX.

Like I tell my wife all the time when she asks why I do something...Because I can. I actually have no reason other than...I want it. Unfortunately, I don't live near any desert or mountains or have any off road areas near me to be able to put this truck through it's paces. Bottom line...just cuz.

For me it is all about the suspension... now don’t get me wrong i am really happy that this has the 702 in it.

I love fast acceleration and hated that I could only enjoy the feeling of getting thrown back in the seat for 7 months a year in the midwest.......Then RAM went and built the best year round performance daily driver EVER and I love them for it

I am a horsepower junkie and also have always driven a truck as my daily so when there were rumors of a hellcat powered dodge truck coming out I went straight to my local dealership and gave them a deposit to be first on the list when the build was confirmed. That was 2 years prior to the actual release and my dealer thought I was nuts. They surely didn't deny my money though. 🤣

Congrats on your build.

Same here one word (suspension) raced motocross as a young guy! And the last five years we meet up with a big group and enjoy side-by-side‘s. I had my RZR suspension built by a race shop in Phoenix. Didn’t commit on the TRX Until I saw the drive videos. And then the motor, and transmission, the chassis. And it looks more like a desert trophy truck, Then the Ford does.Mine will not be a daily.

I have a 2016 RAM 2500 Longhorn with just over 100,000 miles. Was thinking of keeping it and getting the new Shelby GT500. They’re about $110,000. That’d give me 2 vehicles again.
After more thought, I really just want one vehicle to do everything. When I researched the TRX I knew I had found the perfect truck! Even better than my Ford Lightning was 😊

110k for a gt500?? Carbon track pack or without?

Ha Ha! Yes sir, I haven’t been to the new facility in town. I was at their original shop out of the city, great bunch of guys. They have gotten very competitive in the Desert racing industry! I tell everybody it’s worth every penny!!

With the track pack. The $110k is about MSRP and dealers are marking them up $10-25k.
I wanted orange with the painted stripe and roof. Looked all the way to Florida and only found a few. Orange is rare and most had the cheesy vinyl stripe because the pairs one is an additional $1k.

Ahh ok.. Yeah the track pack makes sense. I didn't know if it was for a non-track pack. My ford dealer wanted 15k over sticker for non track pack but since I was a repeat customer, they said they'd do 5k over sticker so 87k for an 82k sticker. I was still upset they wouldn't to MSRP. 3 70k+ buys in 2 years from them. MSRP ford dealers are hard to find I guess. Looking for one for possibly the next gen raptor but feel like they might not move away from the v6 party based on the leaked order guide this week.

I will use the TRX as one of my daily drivers.

Few reasons for the TRX for me:

- I'm gonna move away from boating and concentrate more on camping and such. Ram 2500 was great for towing and all that but now less of a need to have the Cummins 6.7

- I daily drive my motorcycles (weather permitting) so I can be ok with the terrible cash mileage on the TRX. Won't be a "daily driver" and more of a weekend warrior vehicle for me. I'm guessing I'll put less than 10K miles a year on it after the first year (my 2012 Ram 2500 doesn't even have 70K miles on it)

- Living in the PNW and relatively close to the Oregon beaches (which you can drive on) I plan to use the TRX as intended - outdoor 4x4 fun (Ram 2500 not really meant for that).

- I love fast vehicles. I've owned two Merc AMGs and had a blast with them. I'm done with cars so nice to have a truck that can fill my "need for speed".
