Hey all,

I've searched the forum for issues similar but I'm uncertain if this this related. Little background, I have a 2022 level 2, purchased with 600 miles and now have 11,700. It was within the last 6 or 7 months or so I've been noticing whistling sound coming from the dash, especially when travelling at speeds between 45 and 75 mph, and it's especially worse with recirculation on with the hvac system on. Now, I may have sensitive hearing but it's one of those things where you can't un-hear it. Most of my commute is highway so it's constant. I'm in CO, I've had it at Automation in Littleton for 4 weeks, it was elevated to a STAR case and basically at this point then technician told STAR he couldn't hear the sound when he acknowledged with me that he could. My advisor said STAR told them to tell me to take it to another shop/dealership. It seems like they're done with it and don't want to mess with it. I have a appointment with another dealership (Arapahoe).

Sorry for the long read. Anyone else go through this, so frustrating. Now I have to do the same song and dance with another shop.

Could be supercharger whine at that speed, or could be time to turn the radio up and hammer the gas! Never heard of this issue but genuinely going to follow this thread to see what becomes.

I read through this thread and I did what another user did and taped up the "cowel". I taped up the whole thing and the noise was gone. I started to remove a section and the sound came right back. I don't believe the sound is wind noise more so a "mixer" or "squeal" through a tunnel. It's hard to describe. I'm hoping the service adviser or technician will know off the bat tomorrow.

It’s probably something simple, maybe a missing fastener or clip.

I had the same but it was more of a wind noise and not a whistle. They had forgot a bolt in the firewall. The fact that this is a new sound has me betting that a seal fell out or shrunk. Check the bolts around the hud to see if you can feel air or isolate the noise. Also, it does it more on recirculate because the other mode creates a positive cabin pressure.

If anyone was curious the shop has so far found, couple missing body seals and several weak body seal spots, so far. I salute the technician that's taken on this task. I'm hoping it all goes back on in one piece with no missing bolts🤞🤞

Wow good for you! Taking the time to troubleshoot and finding where the issue was! They pull dashes all the time for a/c work and recalls so I think you'll get it back in good shape. (y)

Missing bolt and missing body seals. Thanks UAW...you guys really know how to build quailty vehicles...NOT!

Good news for the OP that he found a shop willing to go the extra mile to fix what the lazy union workers screwed-up!

That tech is an absolute savage. Lol. Before they agreed to pull the dash and all that, did they have to duplicate the noise on their own?

I had a high Chevy High Country with a whistle after 10 minutes or so in 2wd in 4wd it wouldn't make the sound........TRX being awd it makes me wonder if you put in 4wd and see if it stops

I showed the service advisor the steps I took to make the sound go away which was to tape up the cowel. I assume they did the same prior to going ham on the dash lol. I've been told it's not uncommon and they've done this type of remedy on other 1500s.

Please keep us updated with what the fix is. I’ve got a high pitch whistle at interstate speeds that’s coming from the driver’s lower a-pillar area.

Received another update last night, they found the main area of the air leak, it's between 2 pieces of metal (upper and lower dash) where it was supposed to be welded together. They're reaching out to Ram to see how to fix. They sent a video with a test with soapy water and large bubbles were forming. Crazy...

I have the same wind noise issue. My sound is coming from passenger corner dash. You can even feel air flow. Was able to replicate the issue with a tech and they have some part that just came in they want to replace on the dash… we’ll see
