I’m look for something that I can control from a remote or maybe even wire it to the aux switches. Looking to keep the stock exhaust sound when closed and make it loud af when open. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions both diy and installer needed work.

If someone made a cut out that worked on a 12v switch so the dash upfitter switches could control it. I’d be in

I know there are some people on here that have done it. QTP cutouts come to mind. A couple people used aux switches. Someone may have used homelink buttons. I'm pretty sure you can use a remote or even your cell phone with certain setups. I think you have a few options but I don't have specific instructions. Heres one example...

Dont do the cut-outs if you offroad. Ours got gummed up after only 2 trips and the solenoid went ka-put.

ALSO, we noticed a loss of power when the dumps were open. Really felt gutless for some reason (maybe not enough back pressure?).

That's our experience!

AWE cat back, you’ll be happy 😃

I need to ask Santa if I’m on the nice list or naughty list. I think I’m on the naughty list and won’t be getting any toys for Christmas..

Somewhere on here I have a post (or a few) detailing exactly this using the QTP Aggressor cutouts (really, any cutouts will work), and an exhaust cutout controller from Timers.shop. I wired it to a single Aux switch. Configured in latching mode, turning the Aux switch on opens the cutouts, and turning it back off closes the cutouts.

There's this one:

And this one:

I still use them all the time... keep the butterflies lubed with penetrating oil (usually Kroil) during each oil change.

Reminds me my past Harleys, nothing worse that making a lot of noise and being 'all Cowboy no horse!'

Have a set of hooker cutouts on the truck. Been there for 3 years. Wired into home link buttons for open/close.

One of my favorite mods which is saying something considering all of the motor work. There might be a very very small loss in torque at low rpm and low throttle. I know some folks say they feel a loss of power but there is no loss in peak power. The “feeling” of a loss of power is due to how our brains link acceleration with the sound/volume of the motor. In other words, folks have a connection between how loud the motor is and therefore how fast the truck should accelerate. When you add the cutouts and the volume goes up our brains think that higher volume should equate to faster acceleration.

Cutouts are a great way to keep a bipolar truck that can be quiet on road trips or leaving the house at 5am or roudy when you want to

Limited to SLP Resonators and a trifecta of $$ toddlers - maintaining consistent relations with some abrasive neighbors is amplified by parking back to the garage door for optimal cold starts.

Always had a fondness for Boom Tube style 'NASCAR' exhaust prior to the rear axle. Thankfully
YT'ber Emilia Hartford shares my enthusiasm.

lol, yea less concerned about the neighbors and more about waking the baby. Also honestly love a quiet car on long drives if the RPM isn’t going to change for hours.

Pretty much guaranteed you did not lose power. But with the cutouts open you effectively shorten the length of the exhaust which would move the peak tq and hp to occur at a higher RPM.
