Anyone else here that has gotten their engine replaced under warranty? How long was your truck at the dealer for? Mine has been at the dealer two months and they haven't even gotten approval. They have been going back and forth with warranty because they requested a bunch of photos and reports. 3 weeks ago they had request some final documentation and the dealership still hasn't heard back. 3 WEEKS. How could it possibly take this long to review documents? My advisor says there's no number to call and that they only communicate through messages. RAM customer care is useless. They got some Indian call center who doesn't even understand wtf you're trying to say.

I've been in a rental that they are paying $40/day for... You think they'd speed things up a little. I probably won't get my truck back for another 2/3 months at this point. Paying for it to just rot in the dealers lot. 😤

At least it can’t get stolen with no motor in it.

Not a motor but I had my tranny replace recently. It was at the deal for about a month and my Service Advisor took all the photos and reports. Maybe @RamCares can help out OP.

I don't think they care. Customer care has really gone down hill. I will probably never buy another stellantis product ever again.
Interesting. It must be on a case by case basis because I've had nothing but good service with my Dealer. It's been great and I'm truly impressed with the service I've been given.

I'm just starting this process, was told last Friday that they were gonna start the process for an engine replacement. Discouraging to hear it's been over 2 months for you and no approval yet.

Others have said it, STALLantis has destroyed RAM customer service. But it comes down to your dealership.
The dealership likely put your truck on the back burner (warranty work), because they had cash pay customers.......warranty work pays less and will always fall behind cash pay. Some senior techs refuse to do warranty work, due to the low reimbursement.

I think I had posted this before...I figure if the "dealer" cannot figure a way to make it worth their wild...then it is not worth it for them.

I bought a new 2024 Ram TRX Final Edition right off the dealer lot. After 1,000 miles my truck wouldn’t start, or even attempt to turn over the engine. I had to have to towed to the local dealer who replaced the starter which caused the engine to blow the #8 cylinder and break the piston. There had been a leak in the intercooler which drained into the cylinder. The entire engine needed to be replaced. The dealer gave me a loaner car to drive while they had the truck. It took about 2 months before I got the truck back, the main hang up being the engines are on restriction and have to be approved before being shipped out. I have the truck back now and have since put another 900 miles on the truck and it seems to be running just fine. Chrysler reimbursed me 2 truck payments, and gave me 4 free oil changes and 4 tire rotations.

This gives me some hope but it's exceeded the 2 months already and they have been radio silent for the last 3 weeks. How were you able to get them to cover the 2 payments? I'm definitely going to have to get some type of reimbursement. The monthly payment isn't cheap.

The dealer said they would give me two months worth of payments however they said it may take a while before they heard anything. Chrysler needs a copy of your invoice once you get the truck back and a copy of your loan payment…that’s is what they use to determine the amount they will reimburse you. Since it took a while for the dealer to let me know what was going on, I reached out to Ram directly and a woman named Maureen gave me a call and helped me through the process of getting the reimbursement. She got everything approved much quicker than the dealer could. She also applied Oil changes and Tire rotations to my VIN. Here is the number for Ram Customer Care that I used 866-932-3878

One thing I want to mention, the new engine has to go through an all new break in period before you get on it. My engine seems to be installed well and I don’t notice any issues. However my brakes do not feel as firm as they once did. I assume there must be air in the system, potentially the master cylinder. My dealer says they bled the lines already but I am not totally satisfied with the brake pedal feel yet. I like a nice firm feel and it’s a bit squishy. I’m going to have them check the system for any leaks and rebleed them. When you get your truck back, be sure to drive it around for a while and test to make sure the brakes are good to go.

Thank you for the information. I will definitely be seeking reimbursement. Someone shared a person's info from stellantis with me and I reached out to them and they lit a fire under someone's ass because I just finally got approval to replace the engine. Hallelujah!!!

My 22 has multiple spun crank bearings that started making noise at 22k miles, i reported the noise then but with no drivabity issues, they didn't actually pull the oil pan till 66k miles. Long story short:
They have had the truck for 105 days
No parts ordered
No confirmation on coverage
Ram Cares has been involved for a while now with
no end in sight.........
Do I have regrets?......yep.

Ooof that's a tough one. What dealership?

I am not impressed with the factory warranty, at least for power train items. I am waiting for the third transmission to be installed on mine. Truck has 1700 miles on it. About a month and a half to change the first one, which lasted 200 miles. I am closing in on a month waiting on this one. Dealer said that the authorization request was submitted last Friday and that it’s a two week decision making process. Then, if they get authorization, they have to order the new transmission. Dealers just don’t seem interested in power train warranty work. They just get to it when they get to it. I just hope it’s actually fixed this time. If I have to do it again, I don’t know if I will go through the warranty.

Went to multiple dealers. I am actually at a different dealer than the one who installed the last transmission. All of them seemed real uninterested in doing the work. All of them said they could not even look at it for three weeks or more depending on the dealer. Even went next door to another state, same deal. Which is crazy for a bone stock TRX with less than 2k miles.

Friend of a friend, is a service writer for CDJR. Dealerships are to blame for the delays in many cases, but. Inside scoop is STALLantis is making it very difficult for the dealerships to get warranty engines and transmissions and also creating long delays on the information gathering needed for warranty approval. CDJR writer said STALLantis will request the same engine inspections / computer data 2-3 times, then request it again. This smacks of medical offices having to request insurance reimbursement 4-5 times before being paid for services. In the end....the insurance company hopes something will be lost in all the requests, and they will never have to pay. Back in the day, we called it billing attrition.

This is exactly what I was going through. Luckily I was able to get an executive at STALLantis involved and after nearly two and a half months my new engine was delivered to the dealership today. I miss my truck.
